So what do you think? really solid and straight, complete, 500 bucks! I didnt even have to think about it! Jim
i like that. I like how the windows have that curved look. but honestly i have no idea what kind of car that is just curious.
It is a 48 pontiac, yea it is a very "intersting" looking car.....read in here kinda ugly, but not something you see every day, and it was so solid I just could not p*** it up! Jim
Lo-----ve the fastbacks! IMG]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v639/fleetrodn59/Buick/Picture41060.jpg[/IMG]
I spent 7 years growing up as the back seat p***enger of a very similar '46 Poncho. My dad figured he didn't need a car during the war and sold it to a dealer in '44 with the guarantee he would get the first new 2 door model after the war ended. The '46 fastback what he wound up with, and I've been brainwashed ever since.
I was thinking canted lincoln headlights, some kind of grill like a 48? olds I think is that the one that looled like it was frowning? and shaving the chrome and handles, sitting on the ground, with frenched 50 lincoln taillights, and for power something like a 389 with tripower and a 4-speed. I have teh running gear so that is why I was thinking that way. Jim
YES!!!.........another one rescued from the "jaws of death"!!!.....I like your thought too about a "poncho" drive train!!.......nice score dude!
great score...especially since it's a fastback...500 bux...I would buy that one at that price every day of the week
I'm still kicking myself for missing one at this guy's auction like a year and a half ago that sold for $90. In about the same shape. I probably could have got it for $150 or so before the guy who got it would have backed out of the bidding.
Great cruiser! My bud had a black one in high school. Had a straight 8 with split manifold and dual gl***packs...I'll never forget that sound! We used to fly down an alley, with buildings close on both sides, so we could hear "pay off". Loved the way it looked too. It was dropped 3" in back with blocks, and he ran '56 Feiastas all around on red wheels. Never saw it dirty either, and it would hurt your eyes, in the sun, with all that chrome and stainless gleaming off the black paint. Good luck with your project...looks like you have a good one to start with.
Thats a super lookin fast back! Look good stock, painted black and lowered? Guess no one is repopping all that beautiful side trim? Post more pics please if ya start the project..............
