Event Coverage Stray kat 500 2009

How about a STRAY KAT 500 update? Over the past two weeks the pre-entries are coming
in and already the freebee shirts are almost gone… We have around thirty shirts left so if
you want something for free get your pre-entry in right away. This is the quickest that
we've hit the mark. If you hadn't yet and you are going register, let me know so I can add
ya on the shirt giveaway list. I want to make sure all of the HAMBers that will be at the
show will get one of the giveaways. Our website is up and running so go checkout last years

http://www.myspace.com/pushrods These bands have rocked Dewey before and
my saying if it is not broke don’t fix it. And there is nothing wrong with this line up.

I’m still on a high from the Sacramento Merc coverage so we are going to celebrate the
60th anniversary of the Mercury. We will have a special Merc gathering. We’ve almost
had twenty Mercs before and my goal is to hit over thirty. Ron Myers laid out some kool
lines on a panel that we will be giving away to a Merc owner and we are going to do
something kool for all the Merc guys.

Last years art show was a success so we are going to do another one and 100% of the
proceeds will go to the Tom Mix Museum. Right know we have a few kats interested in the
show and we will have some kool stuff to auction off. The show will be held inside so if
you want to work on something the day of the show we will have some protection from that
Okie wind. If you can't make it and would like to donate some stuff to auction off, give me
a hollar.

I'm still bummed about not being able to be there. But at least my Merc will make the trip for me. Hope you take some good pictures for me Duncan....breaks my heart to not be at my car's first cruise out!

 

Mick count me in for bringing my Mercury. It won't have paint done but it will be there.

Also Jimbo and I will put in a few pieces in the art auction.

 

Hey Dave thanks for the pictures that you sent me from Sacramento. I just got them
today so I hadn't seen them yet but when I get home look out computer...... Your already

we had a practice run this weekend , drove through the hotel parking lot, did a burn out , threw beer cans out all over the parking lot,fought with the hotel manager, waited for the 16 year old cops to show up , OK not really but we were in town .

 

I'll be there in drdave's Merc with camera ready to go! Dave, I still can't believe you're gonna let me drive it.

Mick, since I'm coming on David's registration, can you set aside another
t-shirt for me, so I can take it home to Dave?

 

Sorry again for all the detail shots....I took lots of close ups of stuff I have in my mind so I know how the big boys did it. And, I took lots of dupes just to make sure I was covered, cuz I knew there would never be another chance to photograph all those mercs so easily!

I looked on your website at the schedule to see what I would be missing. I see the cruise this year is out to Wooloroc. That was someplace we wanted to stop last year with the kids but ran out of time and hoped to do this year. I shouldn'ta looked and made myself feel worse. LOL

 

After you get done wearing it Friday and Saturday, I'll have Renee wash it Saturday
night and you can take it back to Dave.. Just don't tell him, OK??

Bad News Update: Dan's '54 Caddy has a cracked cylinder head...setting us back a few weeks...

Good News Update...my '55 Caddy is liking the primer it's getting...sealed and primered the p***enger's side door and the p***enger's side skirt last nite...that leaves the p***enger's side quarter to get smoothed and the driver's side door to get smoothed...(and then we'll start on the front fenders and hood...!!!)

We're still planning on being at your run...but maybe with only one Cad this year...unless all things fall into place...

Kool!! The legendary "TOAD" at the SK500 Very Kool is she on the road yet??

Thats a kool drive....Years ago (20 or more) I went to a car show in Tahlequah, spent
the whole day cruzin around a lake. That day it seemed like the ocean. I never
found the show and when I started to hear Banjo music I started to head to the house.
