Barn Find- NO, wait a minute make that CAVE find.

Having been real busy, on other peoples projects for some time, the wife finally convinces me to take a break and have a holiday with her and the kids.
Well seeing my place I call home at this moment, is Europe, we decide to head down to the southern coast area of Croatia, …….Yeah Croatia..
I ask myself, what the heck am I doing here, when I should be working on the Merc.in sunny Mexico.
    <O:p
But to the keep the peace on the home front and yeah deserve a rest from the daily grind, I settle into full holiday mode.
Here I am relaxing, eating, drinking and sunning my very white buns,- I dont think they have seen day light for about 20 years,
But most of all I am just vegging out.
    <O:p
Now you ask, what has my holiday got to do with my intro.
Well, my holiday turned into a barn find thing.
I have to be technically correct, here, because it was a cave, okay.
    <O:p
Well about the third day into the holiday, we decide to head up into the rugged hillside above the famous town of Omis, where the pirates had their marauding fortress.
We travelled along narrow winding roads until we came upon a small sleepy isolated village in these hills.
    <O:p
Looking for something to eat and drink, we find a house that has been built into the cliff side..
    <O:p
Wait, a minute I say to the wife, this place looks familiar, I have seen something like this before, somewhere, I just dont know.
Nah, she says, you always say things like this,- been there, done that.
Now I am getting a bit peeved because she knows how to rattle my can.
I tell her this is eerie, I have seen something like this before.
    <O:p
    <O:p
Anways, we enter through the front entrance of the house or shop and bingo straight into a CAVE.
    <O:p
Oh, Oh, my brain is like its experiencing, Time Tunnel, Back to the Future, Sliders, StarGate, all at once. .
Full overload, I wipe my eyes, over and over again.
I cant believe what I am seeing.
Is this the holy grail of hotrodding history, right before me.
In off all places in, a cave.
Could this be the very first hotrod ever built.
    <O:p
I need answers fast, so I front this big guy and in excited jiberish, I ask him about the car.
    <O:p
Well , he then goes and gets his dad., and we start talking about the car in the cave.
The old fella and his son spent over ten years building up the car and fitments in the cave.
So I quick to summise, I will give them an alias -this is Fred and Bam Bam..
Now I just want to know where Barney is.
    <O:p
Old Fred let me take some photos of the car and the cave, I hope you enjoy them as much as I did of the whole place.
Now I will follow the theme here on HAMB of barn finds and the various questions asked. of course tongue in cheek.
    <O:p
    Whats it worth, etc
What should I do with it, etc
How do I get it out or out of the CAVE from under the owner.
So where did really Fred and Barney live.
    <O:p
This is my story and Im sticking to it.
So what do you guys think.

  6. Very cool Simca Cinq (5). Was it ever recovered from the cave?

  7. I wonder if the first cave find could be titled as a motorcycle... since it only has two "wheels" :)

Yeah, I was telling ol FRED that he could possibly rod this thing along with some slight changes to the wheel/tire combo, but he said he liked the old roller wheels, because it was the only thing he had available then.

    Nice roadster find!

The body support wood looks great-just needs to be skinned.

    Definately upgrade the "mechanical' brakes!

    Ditch the Escalade inspired grille.

Yeah, its got a tiltle, but its engraved into the side of the cave and has some funny signature just like a hand print on it.
I think it would be hard doin to put it into my pocket when I finally can talk ol Fred out of the car.

    It's got a 300 dinosaur-power "hemisarus" engine, and a rock crusher transmission.

It rides a little rough, but it flies like a pterodactyl... :D

  26. But will Geico insure it? You know, so easy a caveman....

Next time you come we uncover some cave with Wine and Prshut inside....much more fun.
