Any good samaritans in So-Cal anymore?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by five-duece-chevy, Oct 31, 2008.

  1. David finished the floors.
have to get up there to get the car.
we got the dough (Thanks guys) and we're waiting on a mutual friend to find out how she spells her name so we can make her a HAMB member.
when it gets back we're taking it to the glass shop for new rubber.

she's been in and out of the hospital lately so this is really gonna make her feel good when we drive it to her.

  18. hey thanks gary.

i talked to the owner yesterday to let her know what's going on and that her car isn't in mexico serving duty as a taxi cab.

    she was all pumped up.
she said she hasn't called because she didn't want to ruin any surprise...

thanks again fellas for all of your generous donations.
we have all we need to buy the window rubber, R&R the glass, put a new tail pipe on it and buy an alliance membership...

    so she says to me...

i wish i had a way to say thanks to everyone...
    i simply said... i've got a way.

i've kept track of everyone who has donated time, money and parts. once i get her HAMB acct. set up, i'll show her how to log in.

Wow! That's really cool guys! I know it feels good to be able to step up and help others out! Imagine how much you all changed her outlook on the world around her!

  23. ordered the windshield and back glass gaskets from Chevs of the 40's today. hope to see them on friday or monday. then off to the glass shop... then to Fredy's for a tailpipe and glass pack.

she has boxes and boxes of resto parts for the car, but i think we're gonna take a break after glass and muffler.

  24. hey guys...
you know what we could REALLY use?

we could REALLY use a hood latch assy.

this one is all hogged out and the hood wont stay latched.

if anyone feels like donating one it would be superlative.

I may have a hood latch for a 53 Chevy. Can somebody in the know verify if the 49 and the 53 latches are the same? Regardless I'll see if I can locate it in my stash of neat and organized parts inventory:D. What you guys are doing is SUPER!! Be proud of yourselves!!

Is there still any use for more funds? I am always up for helping out anyone whenever I can. Absolutely amazing what everyone has done thus far. My hat is off to alteredpilot for volunteering is his time and shop and taking the reigns to help out a total stranger!!

Mitch, could you send me a picture of the hood latch? If it's something I can fix, I'll pay the shipping both ways to get it done.
