Worked hard on my little Tupperware T Steering column, brakedrums and reversed former hanging pedals mounted, my fibergl*** T is more and more beginning to look like a rod: Dashboard and windshield frame mock up the steering wheel will be replaces by a steering wheel from an MG) The reversed corvair steering box.....
Damn!!! Wish I'd seen your steering box mount before I welded mine up!! I may grind mine out and make another one! Mike
Hi Vargosk! Its a british Copy of that speedway body from popbrowns, he used to make them, but not anymore, I think.....The rearview post mirrors are 10$ bicycle mirrors, that I cut and welded a little mounting bracket on. Its attached at the windshield to windshield post mounting stud.
@Mike Britton: Oh, thats easy, I boxed the frame in that area, cut an L-shaped piece of iron, trimmed it to fit, drilled holes in the frame and the bracket and mounting holes for the box in the bracked. I used counter sunk screws, to mount the steering box.I used 10mm tubees, that I cut to fit between the frame and the boxing plates, where the mounting screws for the bracket go through the frame, so that You cant dent the frame, when tightening the screws. Make sure, the material for the bracket is stable enough, because a lot of forces are transmitted in that point......I can make more detailed pictures of it if U want!
Heres the Engine, a brandnew 1962 german Flathead, I had to scrub the preserving wax from the block and all the other stuff before ***embly....oh yes, the starter is old, but overhauled. The intake manifold is an Almquist.
I didnt have the steering arms for the 37 Ford brakes, the original ones I didnt trust. So I made them on my own...... And here are the front shocks (oil filled)
Actually, there are two bends, one on the steering box and one inside, close to the steering wheel, that should work, steering goes pretty easy at this time with the wheels up in the air......
My first hot rod was a 27 gl*** body... Boy was it rough after i bought it i found out the frame was channel? and junk so i made a new frame and the next year i even replaced the body and i still dont know why i did that ... Mine was channeled over the frame... Yours is gonna be sweet. Dave

Man, Your "T" is coming along just great. I can appreciate what you have to go through yo get parts in Germany. Keep us informed on the build of "Hilde" ! 41 Dave
Yeah, Dave, a true word......Parts are hard to find, compared to the parts situation in the States. I will keep You updated.
Thanks. I'm still in fabrication so I've got the oppertunity to change that, and some other ideas I've picked up from other HAMBers. Your car is looking great. It will be fun to tour some of those back roads in Bavaria!
