You shouldn't ruin it with 22's. But you had to expect that kind of answer on this board.

Why stop at 22's? I say if you're going to go DUB, you might as well go DONK

haha, just razzin' ya. I like the hearse. I've owned three Caddy hearses in my time. If I could afford to buy yours, I would. I think that an early 60s build would be cool with that. Lace paint roof, Astros and small white walls. Just my .02

loose the twenty twooos! thats the worst thing I have ever heard of for a 49-52. If you want to do some thing cool shorten the middle door and length the front door to make it more proportioned.
If I was closer Id take it off your hands.

That's gonna look killer man. I love chevy hearses as they're much rarer than the caddy's and the curves look great on that stretched wheelbase.

Wheel size is a tricky thing with hearses. Big wheels sort out the proportions and stop them looking like they're gonna sag in the middle. I LOVE the overall stance of mine but hate the wheels. They were on it when I bought it and even though the spokes have a gothic look about them and match the landau bars they still look way too modern. Was thinking about going for the largest diameter steels I could find and looking for some white walls that had an overall diameter the same as the 24" rear wheels I have on at the moment. I wanna keep the proportions cause it looks like a Roth cartoon when I run with the back end up in the air and the front in the weeds but would rather have an exagerated old school look to the thing.

Anyone got any ideas? Maybe you could help us both out......I guess I need a white wall with a 24" outer diameter (preferably thin band)

  14. back in the day there were alot that did "double duty".......serious,When I lived in Indy Ks. the same guy did both, kinda a unsettleing feeling when your layin in the back

It depends. If the person you stuff in the back is alive, then yes; if they are dead, then it's a hearse.

If he dies during the ride?

  17. If the siren and lights are on and it's going fast, it's an ambulance. If they're off and it's going slow, it's a hearse. When I was growing up, the only ambulance service in town was operated by Freeman Harris Funeral Home, and they used the same vehicles for both. That was probably the case in most small towns up until the late '60s.

Perhaps the most common professional car variation was the combination coach.

  19. At least they butchered a 4 door POS instead of something nice...

It's a funny thing about hearses(service cars). A 1937 Chevy hearse floated around Houston for about 20 years being sold and resold and, to my knowledge, was never built or even worked on by ANY of the buyers. It was a darn nice buildable car but I'm thinking a lot of darn nice young ladies made it clear to their husbands and boyfriends that neither they nor their children were RIDING ANYWHERE in a hearse until it became necessary.
I wonder where that old dog is now?

No car I ever owned got more attention from the ladies than my hearse. whether its the hot blonde in the porsche at the lights or the mental asian woman attacking me in the street for being disrespectful to the dead.......my girlfriend digs it and she ain't no goth chick.
