I currently have a tunnel ram and dual four carbs on my 35 Dodge truck. This is a fenderless, hoodless truck. The front is stretched out. I bought a three deuce intake. I am considering just running a cast iron intake with an early 2 barrel Rochestor carb.Would anyone out there have any ideas for air cleaners? Pics? I have an original oil bath cleaner off the 35 Dodge 6 cylinder engine. Just looking for ideas.

I think an oil bath filter on that car would look to bulky. I do have a cast iron 2 bbl intake. If you want it its yours.

A few years ago back in my hippy college days (more like a gearhead with an affectation for jam bands, buds and hippy chicks), I was out scrounging around a s**** dump pile with a friend for Metal Sculpture cl*** and uncovered what I was able to determine to be the hood/belt pulley cover of a 1943 Delta Drillpress. It was the neatest thing with great art-deco lines and sculpting but a very streamlined shape. It was wider in the bulletnose front and tapered to a soft curve at the end and crowned out about 5" tall at its highest.
I ended up cutting it in half and welding the two pieces together to form a helmet with a similar feel to the Rocketeer's for a sculpure project. I got an A and the helmet has since gathered dust.
However, and this is my point, I have since thought what a really neat and unique thing to make an aircleaner cover out of (the original hood, not the helmet). It's length would parallel that of the engine very necely and multiple carbs could be nestled up under there perfectly, accentuating the lines of a late 30's early 40's car or truck and making a lot of people scratch their heads and just look bad *** while lending a sense of unity to the multiple carb application.
Anyway, hopefully you get the idea, but you have the right era truck and right application for what I see in my mind so I thought I'd share.
If you pull it off, I'd love to see pictures.
Just don't do anything suparcalafragalistically gay and use a mailbox.

Here is a picture of a VERY similar beast. Wouldn't that look cool all polished up with the right paint?

i used the top of the old caddie style, minus the oil bath part and cut the bottom out about 14" round so a complete round paper element setup could fit inside. a couple of retainer tabs at the bottom seam and you would never know. sits lower that way also.
