Picked up a flyer and Indy World of wheels for a swap-meet 3-1-09 held by Mod-tiques car club says it is their 25th year, held in 3 buildings just wondering if its worth the 3 1/2 hour drive thanks ....
Its something to do in the winter. Its not really 3 buildings, its one in the shape of an H. Don't know if I'd drive 3 1/2 hours though.
I have been to alot of automotive swap meets at Springfield and they are all pretty good but if I was going to drive 3 1/2hrs. I would wait and go to the Spring or Summer Meets. When it's warmer the vendors set up outside and it can take up to 4 hrs. of steady walking to see everything if the weather is good. Do they still have the swap meet at the fairgrounds in Indy every month? If so is it worth a 2 hr. drive? Gasr57
Gasr57 is right--I used to vend at the big spring and fall meets, and they were always good. Good to sell, good to buy. The Ford I still drive, I bought there. The little in between shows are spotty. I live in Indy and I wouldn't drive that far for the little ones. Indy still has pretty good meets during the winter at the state fairgrounds. Check that state fairgrounds website for dates. Next one is March 27-28, I think. I'lll be there selling.
Yea I've been to the other swapmeets at springfield both spring & fall and I go to all the Super Sunday swapmeets in Indy, Thanks for the heads up....
I agree with the others, I go to all of them since I am just an hour away. Its not what it used to be but, all it takes is that one great score. Years ago I always bought things but since the Internet it seems I cant find much or I hear the same story " they sell for this much on e-bay" in other words he is dreaming! Its a shame swap meets are not what they once were.
I was visiting my brother in WV, he said lets go, it was a several hour drive to get there. I have never been sooo COLD in my life.......People were wearing snowmobile suits. Not for us Southeren Guys. Wait till spring.
If the swapmeet they have at the state fairgrounds in indy is not worth the drive for me then this one will definately not be worth it for you,I will be there but I am only 25 miles away. I used to attend the one in the state fairgrounds but with what they charge to get in and have to pay to park plus the gas and a 2 hour drive and most of the time not finding anything I attend the fall swapmeet at the Martion county fairgrounds instead.
I think I would wait till the Spring one as well...It is much bigger and better, and not that far away...Dave n Eds are good ones as well, a lot of muscle, but oldies stuff as well...Also if you cannot pick up a Cruisin Times magazine, just go here...http://www.cruisintimes.org/...they have the run down on most swapmeets/cruises etc... go to the swap met that is May22-25. it is a better swap meet and has a nice car show plus a couple hundred cars and trucks for sale. their website is OhioSwapMeet.com.
