I guess my not wanting to make a big deal out of leaving the Goodguys Gazette to join the Rod & Custom staff worked as it's been over 6 weeks and I'm now getting a bunch of e-mails asking if I switched jobs. Yes, I did. No rumors or bashings to make though. I had a GREAT time working at the Goodguys, meeting HAMBers and putting more traditional cars in that magazine that it had EVER seen. Nothing has been in print yet, but my REAL goodbye editorial will be in the next Gazette that comes out next week. I'm looking forward to doing the best I can for R&C as it is the whole reason my love for hot rods (traditional ones) started when I was 3. I know I've made a couple enemies for having my own opinion about things, but that does even come close to the hundreds of great people I've met at events. Weird thing is it's only the trash talkers that like to get vocal and flame you on the internet while the ones with only great things to say prefer to send PMs or e-mails "off-the-record". That's cool, it just took a few years to realize EVERYONE doesn't hate me. Even the people who I've s****ped with on the electric waves have turned into great friends in person. So anyway, yeah I work at Rod & Custom- see you in print in a few weeks. Thanks Jim
Good Luck with that. It's always an adventure starting at a new location. R&C is a good read. Part of my bathroom library.
Hope things are working out good for you there. I had a great time hanging out with you and your co-workers in L-ville. I'm sure your input will be an ***et to the magizine.
[ QUOTE ] Can you really be "officially gay" when you can't get any takers? [/ QUOTE ] hahah... you did live in the "GAY AREA"... cant believe you didnt find any *takers* or... *givers* for that matter good luck and congrats on the new gig jim, i dont hate you... yet!

Jim, good luck to you at R & C. I've enjoyed your work and point of view while you were with Gary and his gang. Incidentally, what position will you be taking?
Jim-I sent you a PM butIll say it here so as not to seem Gay also I hope you do well at R&C and I didnt really Dislike [you] as you may have thought- from any construtive criticism you may have recieved... he he I just disliked the organization you worked for so that I may have blurred the line of division some....... You have a better avenue to please your cohorts here on the HAMB with NOW. GOOD LUCK....yes really.
[ QUOTE ] Incidentally, what position will you be taking? [/ QUOTE ] Dangerous question to ask with the above comments. Good luck, man. Make sure R&C stays away from ****sville. dan
Congrats Jim A- thats great news. Watch out for RF down there. If you drop anything while in the hallways, kick it into a cubicle before you pick it up.
[ QUOTE ] Incidentally, what position will you be taking? [/ QUOTE ] Reverse Cowgir... umm, Senior Editor.
Yikes, I sure didn't think about the "position" question when I posed it. I hope it's not the same one we all ***umed at one time when taking a new job.
[ QUOTE ] You're gay too??[ QUOTE ] Liar! Anybody that can build cars like you is so NOT gay! And another thing- no such thing as a gay wood shop teacher.
[ QUOTE ] If you drop anything while in the hallways, kick it into a cubicle before you pick it up. [/ QUOTE ] That'll just make it easier for me to take care o' bidness! Actually, he's in the penthouse suite; I'm at the dirty warehouse...he'll have to make an outward effort to get violated (which shouldn't be a problem).
Hey Rob, I pulled over and asked you a couple days ago if you wanted a ride while you were hoofin' it to Jack in the Box- you looked really scared and said you'd rather walk. W***up!
I have never sent you a PM or e-mail in your support. Instead I braved the elements and backed you right out in the open (on these pages anyways). 'O course I had no idea what you did for a living - I just agreed with you a lot....... The new gig sounds like a dream come true. I only wish I could get into something like that. Hell I only wish I could get one piece of art in a mag like that, let alone a whole job with a paycheck and everything... ...I use too many periods though, so I'm automatically out...............

I get spun out sometimes trying to tell people that despite what your feelings may be about a magazine the people doing the work really put a lot of work in hoping only to entertain and educate. Hopefully I can do both in the future. Thanks.
Damn Jim, after the FANTASTIC things you did for the Gazet I will really miss reading and seeing your work. But, looks like you got somthing you wanted...so Congrats and good luck.
