We know where the Orbitron is now but what about the Beatnik Bandit and some of the others? Any ideas where they are at or pics of them in their current location?

I remember seeing the Dragula and Munsters Coach at the Auto Museum in IL years ago but the museum is closed now and don't know where they went or what happened to them.

The beatnik bandit is at the Natl automotive museum in Reno

The munsters coach was sold at an auction at Barris's shop in the 80's and I think it is in a private collection. and the dragula is hanging from the cieling in a hard rock cafe I think in Atlantic city

Fortunately, many of them are now owned and lent out by museums. Harrah's in Reno was the first to recognize their value and I believe that they did own the bandit for a time.

At one time, when they came off the grueling show circuit, they were in bad shape and virtually worthless in that time period.

I personally witnessed Ray Farhner use a cutting torch to remove the front and rear suspensions from the frame (which was broken in half) of the Mysterion.....Roth told him to send back only the suspension parts and junk the rest. Of course, Ray didn't junk it, he sold the body, bubble, frame and two engines to a kid for $750!

To add to your story Tom ,when the truck pulled up at Ed's shop and he opened the
door and all that was in the truck was a couple of nuts and bolts ,Ed was ****ing pissed man, and from that day on he looked for the rest of the parts and the people who ripped him off..............

Couple of years ago I got George Barris to bring out the Munster Coach to the Annual Glendale Cruise Night in Glendale, CA. Don't know if it was the "original" coach, but it did have the fake blower on it with the two-barrel carb underneath, just like is saw when I was a kid.

The Beatnik Bandit is actually in the lobby of the natl. auto museum. You don't even have to pay to see it. It's pretty cool. The Bandit II is inside...not quite as cool. The real gem inside is a Westerguard car.

Franco, Bob Larivee's semi arrived at Ray's shop to pick it up. Ray then called Roth on the phone and when he hung up, Ray said "Ed only wants the front and rear suspensions". Me and my friend watching couldn't believe it (although Ed seemed to delight in nonchalantly saying and doing crazy stuff). I watched those parts loaded onto the semi-trailer. So, if Ed was implying that Ray kept those parts, I know he didn't. (How many years p***ed before you heard the story from Ed?...this took place in about '67 or so.

I'm not sure if it's the original or not but I was lead to believe that it is owned by Barris and taken to the GNRS this year by his shop.

The Mantaray is owned by Dean Jeffries and displayed at the Petersen

The next are all located in the "vault" (Ba*****t) of the Petersen and in a seperate area where I believe all the cars in this area are personal property of Mrs Petersen as oppose to the Museum or a car that they are borrowing for display.

I seen the Munster Koach a couple of years ago and it had a 455-350 Olds and the 8-deuce intake was a fake. Is there a replica of it rolling around, or did someone F_ck it up?

Denise, that Munster Coach is way slicker than the original; That's either a clone, or the over-restored original. The original I knew in the 60's was a rough piece.

Go figure indeed! You must be older than I thought, then. Were you at that '79 Reunion at Cars of the Stars? I thought I didn't meet you until '87 in Tucson.

saw dragula at an air museum in long island last year. not sure if it was the original or not. it was in perfect condition and looked dead on! barris was there, and i asked one of his henchmen how much it would cost to sit in it. he said, "not gonna happen" oh well, i figured i would give it a shot.

TRUE! I had heard it was in the Hard Rock, so my last trip out there, I went in and harr***ed most of the employees of the place! I figured that they were just dumb kids who wouldn't know the Dragula from a Studebaker. But on further research, I found that it was in Planet Hollywood, which closed years ago.
    Where is it now??????????????????????
Anyone got connections with Planet Hollywood corp.?
