coil springs front and rear, awesome brakes for the era, super durable B18/20 motor, dual SU's, available overdrive unit, etc. and I think they weigh something like 2300lbs stock!?
I've had a couple coupes and am on the hunt for the right wagon for a DD type project.

    You are are right.
There were a pickup, but not built by Volvo. Som small body manufactures built the Pickups and even Convertibles!
One of the bodymakers that had the factory about 1Km from where i live. "Valbo karosserifabrik"
There were even a flatbed pickup based on this chassi.(sorry no pics)

Later Volvo built a own version of the delivery but this was made by Valbo Kaross, this car were for their own for goods delivery.

I was going to wait until tomorrow night, but here's a sneak preview. My mates Volvo P1800 will be debuting at the Nostalgia drags at willowbank Australia tomorrow. It's a brand new car so who knows what will happen. It's running a 186 with YellaTerra Head, Triple 2" Su's through a race prepped Trimatic. I'll start a link on it tomorrow night, after its first outing.

I finally bought one my own.
It will be my daily driver and runs on lpg since fuel prices are really high here.
Some fixing has to be done before it's alowed on the road but it'll be fine.

    Here some picca's

Was at a fun small parking lot show in Denver Colorado today. Great mix of all sorts of cars with a very nice 544 chopped sedan running a small block Ford. I like seeing the odd rod & unusual rides.

  20. DerThor: Love it.

Always a big fan of the volvos, and of seeing what all the EuroHambers are driving/building. Good stuff here.

My daily is a '69 142s. Someday want to build one to do the pan am. Pipe Dreams.

Hahah when I saw this thread I just had to post some pics of my old Amazon stationwagon! We drove this uncredibly cool but ratty ass car 650km one way for a cruising once, have in mind that it missed bigger parts of the floor, exhaust and reverse gear :D

The early Volvos were great.Blocks had the same casting process as Rolls Royce.
    I had several 122's and P-1800's.
Finally about 1993 they decided to focus on the Yup market.

  29. I picked up this '64 PV544 about a year and a half ago from a fellow HAMB member. Have put an 8-3/4 mopar rear in it, a MII Welder Series IFS and fit a SBC/T-56 6 speed. The engine destined for it is a 406 long rod, aluminum head grunt engine. Have widened the rear fenders about 5 inches each for 10" rubber. Also widened the front clip 3" per side. '40 Ford rear split window installed - fit like a glove. Something a little different. It'll be a driver and part time slalom car.
