    </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>
Not all that rare. They came on all solid lifter hemis. The dimples were there to clear the exhaust rocker slack adjuster stud. You'll find them on: '55 300 (331 cid dual 4bbl), '56 300 (354 cid dual 4bbl), '57 & '58 300 (392 cid dual 4bbl), Chrysler industrial 331 & 354 as well as Marine 331 and 354. Chrysler never made 392 industrial (and truck) or marine engines, only 331 and 354.

The Imperial covers only came on the '58 model. All others had the "Chrysler Fire Power" covers.

Both the marine and industrial versions had, either, embossed or decaled covers. The decaled versions seem to be the rarer of the two versions.

Has anyone here ever actually seen some. That photo posted was the first that I've ever heard of them.

I don't know. Makes sense they would have made them. They made covers for everything else. I'd like to find a photograph of Sharp Hemi valve covers. Pat at Wil Cap said they made them, but even he's not seen a pair. Or one. Which of course means I HAVE to find a pair. :D

I found the "WEIAND pic" on a Chrysler 300 website ... it's on the 2nd page of a photo gallery of "300s at Daytona" (and other NASCAR sanctioned events) ... just click HERE ... and be sure to checkout the "engine_assembly.jpg" image next to it!

I'm not quite sure why they included a pic of a what appears to be a Hot Rodder's or Drag Racer's HEMI engine (with Stromberg 97s and a magneto) in a gallery full of pics of the Kiekhaefer & factory Chrysler 300 race cars ... but I had never seen the WEIAND covers before ... thought they were way cool .... and couldn't resist posting the pic here! :)

    I'll keep researching.

No, the 300C valve covers said Chrysler FirePower on them. Imperials never came with solid lifters.

This is ALSO what I was thinking!!!

Let me say this again, just to make sure I'm clear....

I KNOW the IMPERIAL covers are NOT rare. I also know the dimpled covers are not rare (Industrial, 300's, Marine, etc.). BUUUUUUT... That is the first pare I've ever seen a set of dimpled IMPERIAL covers. I would like to know the story on these. Maybe the owner can speak up. Are these for real or did they start life out as somthing else?

Sorry for the confusion! When I said "over the years" I meant that in terms of what has been made or used over the years on EARLY Hemis. I guess that could have been taken the other way. D'OH!

These look to me like knockoffs of donovan's. At first I thought thay were Jr Thompson covers, but these dont have his logo cast into them.

Looking at this picture, I cant help but think its bogus. These valve covers look like truck covers with the weiand added. I've never seen an aftermarket stamped steel valve cover for the hemi, let alone one with the stantions for the wire covers.
On the other hand if thay are real, I would love a set.

I've never seen aftermarket stamped covers either, but it IS possible! 5w32 has proven that already with his dimpled IMPERIAL covers shown in this thread. I would really like to know if the Weiands are real. SOMEONE has to know!!! (right??)

I sent an e-mail to the webmaster of the "Chrysler 300 Country" site (where I found that pic) ... hopefully he knows where he got that image ... and can tell us a bit more about the mystery WEIAND valve covers.

I'm thinking that maybe the photograph was used to advertise WEIAND intakes, water pumps, timing covers, etc. ... and Phil Weiand just made a set of VCs with the stamped name to identify the engine as being accessorized with WEIAND aftermarket parts ... ???

Yeah, totally could be just for advertising. Would be cool to know!

With the proper set of dies you can stamp just about anything into the covers. Be cautious about the depth of the lettering (or bump) and how sharp of angle of the die however, as some of the covers are a bit thin and will tear if stretched too far. Pushing 'bumps' into covers has the added risk of distorting sparkplug holes.
