compression readings 8 ba flathead..questions

    49 8 ba flathead...cold.60 lbs across the board...warm..not 180 warm..no radiator hooked up...warm to the touch..ran it 30 sec or so...then 80 lbs all except for cyl 5 and 6....those were at 60..have not put oil in cylinders to find out if it is the rings or valves..... got a cast on and started to bumm out........what does this tell an experienced flathead guy...is this a common indicator of something being they are the most forward cylinders on the left hand side...

    I wouldn't worry too much until you can get it to run long enough to get the temp up and make sure the rings and walls are oiled up. Otherwise the readings you get don't mean much.

    Squirt some Marvel Mystery Oil in each cylinder and spin it over a couple of rounds. Let it sit a day and recheck your readings. You may see an increase in pressure.
