Awesome story. Makes me miss my Dad even more. He was a WWII vet served in the Army-Airforce. Love the Linda Lee part. WOW what opportunity. Good Luck. Slim

I probably should have posted these at the beginning, but here are a few pics of the A in the garage at Manhattan Beach, Ca. We pulled it out in 2002 after being in this garage since 56'. ( 46 years).

RH backed it out on occasion and left it outside. Engine became a victim of "rust never sleeps"..syndrome..

See pic of Golden Eagle Gas Station redemption ticket i found under the seat.

Sounds like you are going to have some good company riding shotgun when you get that car on the road. It was guys like RH flying the TBMs that took the 100% losses attacking the Jap carriers at the battle of Midway. They should be remembered. I think you are doing it in the best way possible. Good luck and take good car of the car.

    Thanks OldeBob,

RH will be remembered and honored along side all who risked thier very lives in the Pacific Theatre for the very freedoms we enjoy right now in America.

As long as I am the owner of (RH's) A, she will travel as a small tribute to WWII Vets everywhere... .....Freedom is NEVER ...."FREE"....

Excellent tribute to those who served and a reminder that each of us is only the "caretaker" of a vehicle we may own for a certain part of our lifes journey and then it p***es on to the next ........hopefully a good caretaker also.

Man, That coupe is sure coming together ! I hope to see the King of Hearts out there on the highway in the near future. You should set up a local run to introduce your car to all the HAMBers in the area. I sure would be there !

Cant wait until you have the finished product, What a great thing to have a dated picture with your father & first owner of your project. To have do***entation like you have and the history on the car makes it even a greater part of history. Thanks for sharing your build with us!

Superb! The Coupe looks stunning and it's hard to say what's better, the car itself or the history behind it and how it came to be the rolling tribute it is now.

    RH would surely be proud.
