The Story Of Bob Crookshank

I dunno, I always figured "External Combustion" was a bad thing on our kind of engines.

 

It helps to keep your beard short.

 

I dunno, if it gets any shorter, I'll be clean shaven.

 

I do know Bobby Crookshank..... I wonder if it could be the same person? He is older than me . Maybe 60's now ?

My favorite Bobby Crookshank line is " There are lots of good deals out there, a person can go broke on good deals"

 

Bob Crookshank would be about 75 now. I knew him from the time I was 17 until about 22. All the time I knew him he was building on that roadster or buying parts. Never got it running in all the years that I knew him. I went through a gas coupe, flathead dragster, a Super Stocker and another gas coupe while I knew him. The point that I was trying to make is that you have to build the race car and improve on it as you go even if the engine isn't as you would like it to be. Don't just plan and plan your life away, get to welding and turning the wrenchs. Roy

 

Amazing there would be two !! Crookshank II would be in his 60's for sure. I raced with him for about 5 years then he dissapeared ...

I agree with you though ... my father used to say ," do something, even if it's wrong " after all you can always fix it

 

Maybe if this thread was on the main forum the real Bob Crookshank would be found.
