I've been narrowing down the search for a complete chassis for my 30 Model A truck. The best deal I can find is on a 4 link chassis. It's not my absolute first choice as far as "traditional styling" goes but the one I'm interested in is a T.C.I. with a tube axle front end. So I think I can work with it. It's also complete with absolutely everything front to rear which works for my application. Anyone running one on an A that could give me any input? Any pic's?? I'll be running my truck without fenders. Thanks in advance... -Ron
I'm gonna be running one on my '29 A. I'm building one with 4 bar front and rear, dropped front axle, and 8" rear. It will have disc brake front and drum rear, and I don't need no stinkin' fenders. I'll try to take some pic's and figure out how to post them.
My A Tudor sedan had front and rear 4 bars. It rode and drove great. 67 mustang steering felt like power (but was manual)
I know you didn't ask,but I'll put this out there. We can do a double Z chassis for around the same $$. But it would have a I beam axle, hairpins, ladder bar rear with buggy spring. sample pic's of Dustin's coupe on chassis we built.
I built my frame like the TCI frame but used a pete and jakes 4 link front end and used a speedway rear 4 link. I have only driven it for a short test drive but so far i love it.
only pic I could find of a TCI 4-bar tube axle chassis I could find.(fenderless) fenders are a must with a chassis like that.
Did you look at Cornhusker Rod and Custom. Has options for hairpins on front and ladder bars on rear. I think some guys on here have used him.
I have the speedway 4 link up front with a 4" drop I beam, Welder Series 4 link out back on a Ford 8". Will be running fenders on my 28 Tudor..its still in mock up but have been told by many that its a great set up and should ride nice. Reverse Eye spring on the front, and probably 220# coil overs out back. Just a suggestion, if your going to run Fenderless, i would think about the I beam axle instead of the tube..I think it would set your car off a bit nicer looking
This is a great lookin' chassis but I like a truck to sit up some. How does it look without the Z'd ends? Or, maybe a mild one to bring the rear down just a hair?
I know what your talkin' about with a 4 link on a fenderless car. I considered maybe channeling the body a little to disguise it some?? I hear the 4 links just ride & drive great but it will be a challenge to make it look right on a fenderless car.
Man, that's a great lookin truck! What color is it? Looks like red primer with a little red paint mixed in but I can't tell from the photo's. Looks good with the cream wheels.
I think this car looks good with this 4 link chassis. Maybe it's because it's painted body color? Anyone know who owns it or have any more pic's??

On the A's with the TCI style 4-bars that have both bars hanging low on the axle housing, ever watch one launch hard? I haven't and was wondering what you've seen. My 32 4-bars are similar to the A's and I've been told that the rear end squats on a firm launch. Which, as I understand it makes for poor traction. Even so, even with 8" tread width street tires and an open diff it seems to launch pretty hard if you don't nail it too hard at first. Seems too, torque would be multiplied at the top rear 4-bar eye due to the twisting motion imparted by the pinion rise of the rear axle.
I have them on mine. Not quite sure if a like them, havent drive car yet. They do hang a bit low for me on a fenderless car but I plan on running an AC Cobra style headers and exhaust down the side to cover them up a bit.
