TRJ has, without a doubt, the best photography and writing in the world. That God it's a subject that I love!

I'da paid 15 bones for just the Woods story...."licking the windows" HAHAHAHAHAAA

I can definitely relate! Hell, I even like to sniff the paper and ink.
Funny you mention LINER notes......TRJ used to have the best.

Unfortunately, that doesn't fly.....today-laptop....tomorrow-some kinda stupid head gear?!

I remember when they first came out. I thought, who's going to pay $12.95 an issue or $40 a year (and just 4 issues a year) for a magazine? Not me! (dumb ***:() By issue 7, I was subscriber and have been kicking myself ever since for not subscribing after I bought the first issue. And I'm still missing issues 2, 3 and 4. It is a fantastic piece of work, without equal, and you can truly enjoy it for many hours before it goes on the shelf. Just like solid said, it's place is the quiet, uninterupted read for hours with plenty of time to let it soak in. Kind of like being at Bonneville, experiencing history in real time while having 60 years of history all around you to soak into you in the quiet moments. And the HAMB complements that with the interactive world of being with your Hot Rod buddies everyday, telling stories, asking questions and sharing the whole experience, even though you might be many miles apart all across this country, and even the entire world! Who would a thought it was possible to have this much fun! :D

Ditto here...somehow, I got turned on the TRJ with the first issue and I am blessed that every issue (even have some of the duplicate/different covers on some issues) is on the shelf and like others, use them often for research.

Since I travel alot, I glance through them when I get them and then "save" them for longer flights which I dedicate to the "read."

    ****an rules!

Mine just showed up today.................one of the better issues. They are all great, I love the bare steel deuces in this one, especially the B400.

Alright, I just found something to gripe about regarding The Rodder's Journal......

    HRH Alloys.
Their adverti*****t is on page 159 of issue 43. Not a knock on their product, don't know a thing about the wheels they sell, BUT, the ad needs HELP!! The diner thing is tired and what's going on with the "paper cutout wheel covers on the '58 Cad?! Bad photoshop maybe?

When I look through any of the issues, they set a tone that puts me in a great mood....then I see that ad......

Well, that's the best I can do at finding ANYTHING wrong with TRJ.

thewildturkey46 ... I like 'em too ... while I appreciate Johnson's Hot Rod Shop's superb craftsmanship in making a B400 out of a Tudor ... I think I actually like the overall look of the roadster a bit more ... both awesome cars though ... and I'm sure the B400 will be a top contender for this years Riddler award.

i couldn't agree we you guys more! great content wrapped in design that is thought out with attention to details, be it typographical, or photographic. don't know if someone has noticed or not but the cover at the newstand is different than the one subcribers get...just another cool touch! the only mag i still get after 09 cutbacks! i only hope it doesn't turn into an ad rag with the downturn in economy...hasn't so far.

Got mine today, but could not get the plastic sleeve open! Normally they just open, but mine was stuck and had to rip the plastic open to get to the issue. I like to keep mine in the plastic, kinda of annoying.

    Anyone else have that problem?

  29. Got mine today and I was wondering which would come first TRJ or Traditional Rod & Kulture. Really good story about Valley Custums. I'm down to 2 magazine subscriptions and will be renewing both definitely :D.-Weeks
