  1. Very creative, would be especially neat if you ran Straight 8 Buick power in the T bucket.

I'm going to watch for one of them long valve covers for future use, great adaptation.

They do pop up on eBay from time to time, the one I used is from a 320 however I don't think they are different. I got my last one for $15

the 320 valve cover is bigger than the 248 263 straight eights i bet one of the big truck international harvester 6 cylinder valve covers would work to , they were big in size also

Very clever. Your valve cover idea remines my of another idea I thought was cool, an oil pan for a trans. hump/cover. The shifter was sticking up through the pan.

Great idea! I'm going to buy up all the straight 8 valve covers for cheep and sell them for ridiculous in a couple of years! (Just kidding.)

I hope you don't mind if me and many others put copy cat "Schafer Dashes" in our cars.

I agree, I hate the column just not in the budget just yet - need to have something to do in the future though :)

I absolutely don't mind, I can't wait to see what others come up with!

How about filling that oil fill, adding a centered hole in that section for a clock and making a glovebox lid there?

I'm sure this isn't going to be my last iteration as a glove box has already crossed my mind. This was attempt one, and for the cost no reason not to keep trying :)

Nice pic, I posted the one in my '52 a few posts up. That one looks like one of the smaller one's but I don't know the dimension differences.
