Mocked up my 4 bar rear suspension. Did you know most rear axles are 3 inch tubes so brackets and such are also but explorer 8.8 are 3 1/4? Had to open up the brackets to fit the tubes.

  3. lost the door handles and trunk lock on the 66 cadi.. stuck a tilt wheel in the 57 ford and spent the rest of the night sorting / cleaning stainless for a 57 cadi ragtop we just picked-up..

Took a day off on friday so I have a long weekend to play around in the garage.
On the '57 Chrysler, I rehung the exhaust back under the car after painting it to cover some of it's former rust, after painting the floorboards first.
Mounted the front-eyes of the leafsprings to the car. Also put the rearaxle back in place again. Tomorrow I will grease the polyurethane bushings for the rear spring-eyes, grab a set of 3" lowering blocks and mount all of this with the rearaxle under the car again.

I got the back bumper ,trim and scripts off the rear today ,i move fast. Then i final long board blocked the 1/4's and fixed a few small dings on the rear filler panel.I was amazed that it wasnt rusty there. Most Tri5's are.Now all thats left is to wet block sand a few panels everyday after work next week and i should be laying on the new paint next Friday ...

Not HAMB related but, did get son's drag bike finished primed-- checked the deck height on the new bullet for it--and then went with him to buy a nitrous oxide filling station-- came home and tig welded a bracket for the hand held starter for it!--Then finalized plans for the LONESTAR ROUND-UP!!!!

I got up at 6 a.m this morning. Welded my brothers exhaust on his fireturd. Rest of the day i worked on my 52 chevy. Tapped out some dents on the corner of the grill sanded out some pits in the old chrome that was flaking off and masked and painted it chrome. Looks great from 20 feet away! Also painted my new gas tank, mounted the sending unit and cleaned up the under carriage where the tank goes. It started to rain so I called it a day.

installed the baffles in my oil pan, moved the pcv pickup, machined a threaded fitting to go in the hole for the new one,got it installed and welded in place, and got it primed and painted. came out pretty good considering a friend of mine dug it out of his shed and evicted a family of rats from it,before sending it to me. two hours in the parts washer and three in the bead blaster. then the modifications to it. :D[IMG][IMG]

Well Friday night I finished up my front brakes (buick drums with finned aluminum backing plates), cut out sheet metal for the floor pan, installed some of the floor, fixed rusty old door latches, mocked up seat height, and drank to many beers. Woke up at 5 am Saturday after a mear 2 hours sleep drove to OKC only to find out that Parr Automotive did not have anything that I was looking for. Drove down to Bishop via the most screwed up route you can think of. Finally got the right parts and came home. Ran brake lines from front drums to through the frame connectors, installed the u-bolt kit for my front leaf spring more beer and made plans. Hope to get some **** done today!! I am bound and determined to drive this thing to the StrayKat 500!!!!!!

Shredded the early Ford box I'm using in my new roadster and found out what parts I need to fix it. Major rebuild here. Ain't it funny how a trans from the swap meet, out of the fellows own running car, has half the teeth laying in the bottom and was still perfect when he pulled it! I have come to expect as much and don't really worry about it anymore. Today I send for parts.

  26. picked up 2 used tires from my buddy's tire shop..mounted them on my "new" front slots....went from way to big to way too lil....i gotta get a handle on this tire ****......then it was off to hunt for the propper lug nuts to go thru the mags...with no luck on that either...not a good car weekend i guess..so far.....

  27. Attempted welding up rust holes in the cab corners of my 56 F100...
Then got pissed, came in and ordered new sheetmetal.
