I think it might be time to bust out that old AMT Diamond in the Rough kit that has been sitting on the shelf for the past 14 years.

Thanks 53olds. Love the Grapevine you got there. I always liked that car. How did you do the body? 53/54 parts with the 50? Anyway that thing is kool.:) I painted my fleetline a satin grape color about a hour ago.

  9. it is a resin body

You're correct. I didn't see his second post. I don't drink coffee since my quadruple by-pass. I've sold all of my models because my Arthritis won't allow me to work in small scale any longer. In fact ,I sold several of my models and kits to H.A.M.B. members. It's a bitch getting old.
I do have some full size cars though. If you look at my profile you can look up some of my posts that show pictures, or I'd be happy to send you some photos.
My biggest bitch was that Sunday models should be posted on Sunday. Hopefully that answers your questions..:)

  15. ok...i'll post them on sunday then. i was just excited!

  16. Hey guys,

The "Super Model Car Sunday" thread was started a few years ago to round up all the scale model interest into one place. This prevents us from missing cool posts and cluttering up the main board. This thread should act just like the "Friday Art Show" does for the HAMB artists.

Posts can be added to the previous Sunday's thread throughout the week like it has been doing. On the next Sunday, a new thread begins.

There is a continuous scale modelers social group going on. This is a very, very active group for "Jonesing" during the week. Check it out here:

    H.A.M.B. Plastic Model Builders

    http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/group.php?groupid=105

I gotta tell ya the HAMB PMB's thread is one of the best scale plastic automotive sites on the Internet!

Keep up the great work, guys!

I love these threads...I have one of the new Special Edition Series Revell '49 Mercury kits that I'm working on.Krylon Ultra Flat works great as a base primer and totally dries even without runs in about 10 minutes, then I found this bad ass micro flake Dupli-Color Metal Specks spray paint that goes on well on top of the ultra flat, and dries pretty consitent..The color is a metallic tangerine orange almost.Did just the roofline up and deciding if I like it or not before I clear the roof.If I don't,then I'm going to spray the whole body then clear it and work on the rest.

  25. Looks pretty good.
So, when are you going to start the full scale build and head for the salt?

thanks for posting the great links. Appreciate it.!! Something to do while the glue dries. I'm so glad I grew up in the 50's & 60s,. though I don't have any models left over from those days, when I see a certain model car it really takes me back to when I was a kid and life was simple.

I guess it is put up or shut up. I don't build perfect models, the key is to building them to look real and not like a model. Materials you use is up to the builder, just like real cars. 45 years of model building is a long learning curve.
