I've got some questions.... I dont really know **** about ramblers. I'm looking for the dashboard out of one, which I think is a 60 rambler rebel. I've found a few years have a dashboard that looks the same, but I find that they have a foam dashcap... but I know that I've seen a 60 where the whole dash is steel. Was the padded dash an option? Or, if not, what year did it become standard? Also, do they weld in, or bolt in. If anyone has an extra one, or a whole parts car with a steel dash in it, I could really use it. I'm having a hell of a time finding one like this: -Johnny
They are a long way from you, but they show to have 2 59 rambler supers parts cars. Maybe they can help. CTC's Auto Ranch Inc. 3077 Memory Lane / I-35 North Denton Tx 76207-4919 (800) 482-6199 or (940) 482-3007 ctcautoranch@ctcautoranch.com
I get it... you're all ashamed to admit you have a rambler... It's ok... it can be our little secret. We're all family here anyways.
You're just an hour up the road from Kenosha. You'd think there'd be Ramblers laying along the side of the road up that way. I'm hoping somebody responds with info about a trove of Rambler parts also, 'cause I'm looking to buy a set of front brakes, hubs, wheels, the whole enchilada from a 60's Rambler. So, here's a bump up.
I'll fess up. I have a '62 American wagon rusting, er I mean resting , in the driveway. I dig Ramblers and their funky styling. my '62 does not have a padded dash but there are holes in it that look like pad would have gone there. Anyone know when the pad was introduced to Ramblers?
No one saved Ramblers. The only guy here with any the place just took whatever you left and never s****ped anything. He's not an operating business. A few hit one of the you-pull-its a while back and one guy got all the trim and sellable stuff, then they went to the crusher - people still don't keep them. I'd watch eBay, I bought my '58 for under $200 for a whole car - before s**** went nuts, but I think that's all they're worth in rough shape. Don't get me wrong, I don't think they're bad cars, I bought one. It doesn't have a padded dash, incedentally, I think that was an option until the early 60s - they're just cars not too terribly loved.
this ones 5 miles from me......i just called dano, he owns the yard...waitin on him to get back to me......
Had a '59 Rampler Amb***ador V8 until I smashed it into a tree and another tree and a '47 Chevy truck....God damn mud racing in my nieghbors cornfields always gets me...No it didn't have a padded dash...If it did my head would have not had a giant goose egg on it....
well, thats good...cause dan called me back yesterday to tell me they crushed it last summer~! so its a toaster by now!!!
Damn.... Thanks for checking. So did we decide that padding was an option for all years... or that it started in like... 61or something?
dude i was at the junkyard on sunday and found a 196? rambler (square body) that had that same dash, painted steel no foam padding, i figure it was just an option, padded or non padded. you want it? it still might be their??
Yeah, I need one really bad. As long as it's not padded, and it looks like that... it's perfect. Thanks for keeping an eye out guys.

I have a 60 Rambler. It doesn't have a padded dash. I know of a guy that has a few ramblers out here that are the large ones like mine. He might be able to sell you one if I talk to him. I'll email him tonight and see what he has. Are you looking for the American or Full size rambler? Mines the Cl***ic model with the push ****on automatic. Also he might have a radio for the other person I could check.
I know where a complete '62 Amb***ador wagon with factory A/C. I'm in Little Rock AR. if your interested.
