Maybe I'm the only one who finds it kind of neat. Apparently, Jayne Mansfield was a distant relative of my family. I just found this out, along with the fact that she died in a 1966 Electra 225. Not a huge long story but pretty creepy.

Her daughter, Mariska Hargitay, is an actress on the Law & Order: SVU series on television. I belive she was in the car when her mom died.

    That's creepy.

I didn't know until now that Mariska was her daughter. Jayne was related to my great Grandma.

My dad was the administrator of Conjeo Valley Hospital in Thousand Oaks CA. back in 1966 when her son Zolton Hargitay was admitted because he mauled by a lion at Jungleland in Thousand Oaks. He ended up undergoing brain surgery and was hospitalized for a month there. My dad constantly complained about all the media that hung around... She was killed about 6 months later... and Jungleland went out of business...

I am a distant relative of Soupy Sales. Funny, we both loved getting a pie in the face.

    Hmmm, small world, isn't it?
