I made this with a few years back and had it in a done up bathroom i did but we moved and I though one of you guys that had a similar garage, shop, bath whatever could use it. post a pic of where it will go and the most fitting gets it for free.even shipping!
Wow, that's freakin awesome. Here's my uninspiring photo. I bought a run down tweaker shack a year ago and have been working it over instead of making an honest living. It's about time to return to the real world and the house is about 2 rooms from done. You shoulda seen the ****hole it started as.....the whole purpose is to emerge with a low payment to free up car funds. A true hot rodders house project. Anyway, being a single dude I'm free to put car stuff wherever I want. Like the Frankland super cover displayed in the living room or corvette exhaust stored in the kitchen. Or, if I'm lucky enough.....I'd be the kind of guy who has a *****in camshaft stair railing (lower left on the picture). That cam's just about perfect length. Once the kitchen's done this room is next, it's the back door leading out of the kitchen. Used to be unincorporated but is now part of the living space, so it needs new window, walls, ceiling, & floor. Just the little stuff ya know. Really great for you to offer it up, regardless who wins!
I was gonna post a pic of my hot rod bathroom, but it`s just a small room with a comode and a sink. It`s got pinstriping on the sink doors, and mags everywhere, but not much room for a full towel bar. I know some of these guys have a way cooler room for that kick *** bar you made, so ill stay out of the running.
I wanted to do a hot rod themed bathroom... Grille shell surround for a vanity mirror... camshaft towel holder... (attached to the wall via connecting rods) shower curtain rod with holes to look like a drilled chrome tube axle... vanity lights are headlamps... sink faucet handles are round shift knobs... toothbrush holder a piston... and various pinstriped accessories probably my favorite idea was to use a 33/34 Ford door handle as the flush handle on the toilet It'll have to wait for the new house though... someone on here has a pretty cool bathroom... I remember the towel holder was a cool piece of stainless side trim. The ideas/talent on this board is pretty awesome
Gone in 120 seconds. You guys will never make it as car thieves. A clever guy should make the brackets and offer them for sale!
LOL! I'm at work - I have to edit my post later after I get home... dude, who carries pics of their ****ter on 'em, you know? ~Jason
I'd actually nominate ChevyRoxGirl (Megan). . .after the treatment she and Denise gave to her bathroom, it would be a perfect fit!! Or hell, it would even look great in Denise's ba*****t (with her HAMB calendar wallpaper). . . Two ladies who contribute a great deal to the HAMB and are both cl*** acts!!
I've got a bathroom in this mess just to the left of the picture, it would be nice in there and of course all the help I can get to keep motivated would be great too...lol
the aluminum brackets are the easy parts. The cam you have to shave the ends and tap them for your bolts.and then the blasting of the grime from the valleys.
I would look at making the brackets where they meet the cam just slightly oversized to fit over the end of the cam, and also about a half inch deeper to slide over the ends. Then you could just use some heavy duty adhesive - think windsheild adhesive - to hold the ends onto the bar. I'd be down for at least one pair of those!
I thought I have seen just about everything people could do with a camshaft , but I have to give you First Place for the towel rack . Great idea and looks really good too !
Look at that lame towel bar. how can you let this go on? If you pick me I will hug it, pet it sqeeze it and hang stolen hotel towels on it
I made this out of a cam from a 215 buick and connecting rods from a 302 ford. The TP holder is a sbc cam on a chevy sprint drum topped off with a shoebox ford upper a arm courtsey of Art Morrison Enterprises. I got the Picture from Franco at the 2008 HAMB drags. BB
I also made one of each for the downstairs bathroom back in 2002. Also have a couple of Kotex dispensers and a condom machine and the shower is made out of an old GTE phone booth. BB
