    Neat car.

Kind of looks like a dragster made for the original Batmobile series. :D

And kind of looks like the car has a helmet of its own! I like it!

Conder has some interesting philosophy on the situation. I see it too. Everyone is bored with NHRA drag racing (and nascar) because it's all about being the fastest. And while racing at it's core really IS about being fast, without some style and soul it's fairly dull for those that aren't competing.

I hope at least one of you NTF FED drivers has a big-tittied girl lining you up...

Conder, I'm with you on the tires - my new car will run repop fingerprint slicks with stiff sidewalls - will fry rubber for 1320 feet and soften the blow from the sidestepped clutch.
Lucky for me, I don't care about winning - just dig the rush and wanna see how my tune-up is doing...
Lots of great ideas on here. Bottom line: viva la difference!

That's what I thought too, when I saw the scallops. Hey Adam, do you have a cape?

  4. Adams car is great for what it is and im not knocking it in the slightest, if i could get a go at running a any kind of front engine dragster i would. but seriously, Conder needs to put some runs into his creations and show everyone the way...end of story

Race car guys only care about the fastest ET's . This car shows that it isn't about style, because it looks terrible. It's all about going fast. Why put the motor up front? God only knows why. Definitely not a nostalgia car for sure, but then again, neither are half of the cars running that class. Its amazing what gets posted on a board that's about Traditional Hot Rods and Customs these days. the early '0's were so much better...hahahahaha

Wow!!! Neat car - so reminescent of the early stuff - pretty freakin' cool to see the "boundry" pushed in todays arena like this.

Luke, How'd you ever guess I'd be reading THIS post!!!

And Cole Coonce remains King of Ink! I've been approached recently about writing the Champion Speed Shop story, but alas - it is done and it is a masterpiece, written by Cole. Dear reader, if you haven't already done so, click on the link to Cole's site and take advantage of this golden opportunity to grock the whole story. Wow.

I throw down my keyboard - I'm not worthy. Surrounded by greatness here: Coonce and Conder on keys and Sorokin in the drivers seat. I am a speck among greatness...

  17. That's one badass little 283!

  18. I wish someone would step up and sponser "CONDER'. Oh, the humanity! I have been waiting for this for years. Please! Someone with extremly deep pockets get on board so I can see this show before I die. Gawd, I wanna see one of his cars run. VISION. Total Ruler!
    (Tim, Were Watching!!!!!!! and waiting)

  19. I'm sitting here deeply depressed tonite, 'cause last year at this time I was in a plane heading from Aussieland to Bakersfield for the best two weeks of my life!
I saw a young guy there in the pits with the best looking fed in the world. That was Tim Conder, Great guy who took the time to talk to a couple of old Aussie drag racers from the '60/70s.
Tim, I really hope you can get some money to realise your dream and show some of the young guys what drag racing was all about. There is nothing in the world as exciting as old style real Fuelers smokin' them all the way. I honestly think that nobody would give a shit about the ET's once they saw that spectacle.
By the way Tim, Your Valve covers are the most treasured part of my unfinished '32 Roadster. " CONDER FOR PRESIDENT"
    Phil.

  20. Hi Cole. I miss the old NR. I have one of your stickers stashed for the digger. :)

He also mentioned liking his crotch right up against the rearend, so he could "feel what the car's doing" better. Fuel pilots are funny...

Just a long shot, but is there any chance that Adam is related to Mike Sorokin, of Surfers fame? Or should I have said infamy?

Is this any better ? Lay back the windshield, black out the canard wings and lengthen the tail

Yes, Adam is Mikes son and a great shoe just like his Dad.

And no, infamy is not part of the Surfers Legend. If you ever get a chance look up the great story on them by Cole Coonce. A must read for digger fans.

    Right, Cole?
