So i got a bit side tracked on the way home from the girlfriends house today...but I have been trying to get ahold of this guy for almost a year now, and finally caught him. I've been really curious ever since he stopped up at the shop and said he had a bunch of old rims and a couple windshield frames. Well i came home with these 2 frames, a back window, 2 side gl*** with bottom channel (not pictured) and a 16 inch ford rim. (not pictured. I know this will be an easy I.D. for most of you guys. My first guess is a 32 and 35 ford windshields.... Also had about 7-8 6 lug rims, one artillery rim, and a big truck rim, he said was off of a 39 ford big rig. *edit* Back gl*** is not flat.. has a slight curve to it.
Windshield looks to be from a late-30's - mid-40's Chevy pick-up. I have the same frame for my '46 Chevy 1/2T.
First one reminds me of 35-6 ford.. I'm guessing the big donkey **** hanging off the bottom is a dead give away that its a plym/dodge?
Yeah. I had a 1937 Plymouth sedan and it had that strap at the bottom that attached to the roll out window mechanism on the dash.
That looks like my '34 Plymouth windshield. Strap looks just like that also. My frame from the backside measures 43 1/8" wide and 10" tall at the center and 11 1/2" at the edges.
Rims are common or garden Chev. probably 37-48 sedan and/or later pickup,to go with the smaller windsheild. The black one is 34-36 Chev sedan artillery wheel. The big wheel and hub look like any Ford or GM wheel from the late 30's to the early 50's on 2 ton and bigger trucks.
Dimensions measured from front side: Frame with rounded corners width 42 center height 13 3/8 outside height 13 3/4 Frame with squared lower corners width 43 1/4 center height 11 1/2 outside height 13
The frame with the squared lower corners looks like the 33/34 Plymouth. I measured the front side and got 43 1/4 w, 10 1/2 center, 12 outside. My frame is dis***embled and a bit tweaked though.
Can someone confirm the second windshield being a 32 ford closed car? Anyone have some stock measurments? They have these thin raised corner pieces in the bottom corners
Looks like a 32 ford windshield to me...here's a photo of my 33/34 windshield..top bar looks more curved than yours....mounting is similar
