DON'T LOOK at my fabricaton. This was a rough draft just to see if it would work. It worked so well that I'm gonna leave it just like it is..

The motor has a 2in pulley turning a 9in pulley which turns the 2in pulley on teh jackshaft, which turns another 9in pulley connected to the bottom wheel on the saw. (the knee bone is connected to the leg bone..)

This set up on my saw gives me 230 feet per minute. With out a jackshaft, I would have needed about a 30in pulley...

This old 100 dollar garage sale saw now cuts the ever lovin dog shit out of any hunk of steel you put in front of it. I am very pleased...

Is it possible to run a router controller to slow the motor to the desired speed. I have seen the controllers for $50 and wondered if this in combo with a wood bandsaw would work. Just thinking out loud and could be way off base, just an idea.

I really don't see why it wouldn't. Just as long as the amp rating would correspond.
