Back then some guys used the stock fuel pump to pump water through the block. Bruce Larson has the same deal on his restored Camaro.

    Hi Mike:
Thanks. It makes sense by the way its plumbed.

I had an old F/gas mustang that the guy had plumbed in a Coleman RV waterpump complete with Garden Hose connections to circulate the coolant... Hey you worked with what you had back then . Nothing like today were you can buy about anything you want.:p

    Thank you

Ya know, stuff may have been homemade and somewhat crude but it sure was a lot more interesting back then. "Ingenuity In Action" used to mean something...:D Mike

That last group of funnycar's was awsome! I'd rather watch those cars today than anything currently running.

Talk about some wild paint jobs back then! Where's the creativity now? Slapping vinyl on instead?

Here is an oldie from the 60's. Hurst Hairy Oldsmobile at Minnesota Dragways. It put on quite a show. I wonder what ever happened to it??

I hate vinyl graphics. My Super stock (class) type car will likely take a month just to paint all the stripes and overlays, but I will airbrush the lettering.

You folks that are interested in seeing some of the old style funny cars might want to make your way to Marion County Raceway in Ohio on August 15, 2009. That's the date for the second Funny Car Nationals featuring the cars from the Great Lakes Nostalgia Funny Car Circuit.
Here's a link to the circuit's web page that includes the 2009 schedule.

Us in 1996, We ran the first 5 second run in a front engine AA/FD in Morocco Indiana and the California boys didn't believe it, so we went to Sacramento and shoved a 5.96 down there throat in the final round.
