Howdy ya'll, I'm looking for some feedback from anyone that has made the trip to the Detroit Autorama show: - any decent/cheap places to stay (that are walking distance)? - how many vehicles should I expect to see in the "lower Level"... I'm almost not interested in the high dollar/glossy cars upstairs - If anyone has been to the Hunnert Car Pile Up, can you compare the two shows? Thanks in advance for any assistance! Bob
worth the trip: yes places to stay/ cheap/ walking distance: yes cars downstairs: about a hunnert can you compare the two shows: no
Yes its worth it. I'm driving down from the upper peninsula to go. Had my room booked for awhile now, so cant help you out there. Havent been to the pileup, but this is indoors. If you have never been to the Henry Ford museum, that alone is worth the trip. You may not think the upstairs will interest you now. I spent the most time there last year.
You could find sleep accommadations not too far away along the I-94 corridor say in Allen Park/Dearborn area at reasonable costs. From Chicago, certainly worth the 5 hour drive.
Are you kidding? It's one of the biggest and best shows in the country. Plus the party downstairs is not to be missed. Definitely worth the trip.
Absolutely worth the trip, I was very impressed when I came down last year for the first time. Will be returning this year. cheers Ed N.
Right On guys - thanks for the info. I've been to Hunnert for the past 4 years running - one of my favorite! It looks like this will be my maiden voyage to the Detroit Autorama! Thanks HAMB'rs, Bob
last years show was def. worth the trip, the year before that...not so much. This year im expecting as good as last year, and i believe it should only be about a 3 hour drive for you right?
Yes, Yes, Yes, etc. The high dollar glossy cars aren't all Boyd Coddington specials up there, trust me. Worth it to walk around.
