I am guessing there will be some type of garage tour and hang out during this event. Just throwing it out there. I will see you guys there. CheaterJack
Couldn't you plan this on a weekend other than jefferson...i'd be there pantless, is there a schudual? what's the plan for sunday?
Dude, if your having trouble deciding Jefferson over Winfield you have issues! You can find 70's AMC parts anywhere - it's Gene F'n Winfield bro!
All good stuff gets bought at jefferson on friday any way. Thanks Casey this is going to be awesome. Very stoked about this. $300 well spent in my book.
Just wanted to let people know there will be some sort of get together friday or saturday, or both for that matter. We're pretty open for what ever either night. It all depends when Gene gets into town on Friday and we get everything set up and how long he works. I'll know more when we get a little closer. As for a garage crawl one night, most of us Cheaters live within a couple mile radius, and there is plenty of stuff to look at. If that gets old there are plenty of fine drinking/eating establishments we can go to and hang out. I'll keep you all posted. Casey
I had Gene do a workshop a couple years ago. You learn SO much in just one weekend. He makes it all look so easy LOL Go, it will be the best $300 you've spent in a long time!
If anyone has a chance to see this you should gene is really cool. I think myself dan and bob were dissapointed in the person and direction the car went when we watched down south. but to see gene at work was killer. this one should be cool the owners not a ***. hahaha
Thanks to everybody who signed up - as of tonight the workshop is completely full. Those of you who reserved a spot, I will need a deposit of 50% or full payment by April 6th. NO EXCEPTIONS. If payment is not received by the 6th, I will post an opening for the workshop here, and you will be bumped. "NO IOU's, I'll bring it the day of, or I'm good for it's" Sorry to sound like a Jag but I'm not going to chase down money. If you want to take the cl***, get your stuff in on time. There are plenty of people who will want to take the cl*** but won't be able to. So do me a favor! If you put down a deposit, you'll need to bring cash the day of the cl*** to pay for the remainder. When full payment is received, I will send you a receipt in the mail. Last thing - make sure your email address is included somewhere. I will send out a m*** email to everyone registered about any happinings on Friday and Saturday night. I look forward to meeting everyone. This is going to be really f'n cool! Casey
Do you think you could get Gene to clean my workshop & then I'll do a seminar for him on how to build a skateboard jump ramp & then teach him how to do early grab method & Japan airs, I'll call it "Cheatercarls Trick Tips". Since he's from the action state of Kalifornia he would most likely be super into the idea. Tell him & get back to me, oh yeah it's gonna cost him $5 lousy bucks! I need 1/2 the money that day & then the rest when we cruise to Walgreens so I can get some peanut ****er poppy**** & a sugar free red bull. Casey Kasim Ketterhaggin, you are the reason I punch myself in the privates. Thank you for all the leg work you did to make this happen. You are o.k. Love Always, your BFF Cheatercarl
With the cl*** about a week away I thought I'd share some pix of the progress that has occured over the last couple of months in attempt to drive the car to the shop next week. Long nights ahead - you guys know the drill. basically, all new front end, 4" drop axle, new spring, new brakes all around, new shocks, ch***is engineering shock relocators, sway bar, etc - the entire drive train has been cleaned, painted, etc. Fabbed a new crossmember in the rear, c-notched, rear end all done up real nice as the schnides would say! The car sits too low in the pict, so I untacked everything and raised it up. I'm sure over time the springs will settle so I wanted the car to still be a functional driver because I want to drive the snot out of this thing - plus I live in wisconsin - the roads f'n ****! Anyways, here she is. People attending the cl*** - I will be sending out an email detailing everything in the next couple of days. Casey
Your going to love this cl***.. I have said it before.. I work side by side with gene and every project that comes along, gene shows me something new.. He attacks the task at hand old school.. Where i need a blueprint / drawing or something, not to mention a truck load of equipment.. Gene just DOES IT. There is a ton of info / experience there and he loves to share..
Gene is the Man! I went with a buddy the first time learned so much it was like censory overload! I talked so much about it five more friends went down to Gene's a second time. Again I learned alot same cl*** but came away with even more. I also went to Gene's first paint cl***. That was a great weekend long days lots of work. I couldnt believe the lame ***' that were whining about the 12 plus hour days. One ***-wipe didnt even come back for the sunday. Just more time and hands on for me! I went and hooked up with Gene for that one on friday did the cl*** on the weekend then went back on monday to help him out get the car out of the booth. My advice go early stay late and ask lots of ?'s you wont be dissapointed! Later Dave
That Merc definitely needs a chop. Can't wait to see the finished pics. I hear ya about the roads in the midwest. Freeze, thaw, freez, thaw.....
