Man- it sounds like the lot of you guys are getting there early. Thats great! Our little SoCal caravan , a few of us outta Irwindale, are not heading up 'till early Friday morning. Try and save a spot, even if its out in the boonies!!! I signed in for hotrod class. Don't really fit into any other catagories, its just too slow. Fun, but slow.

  5. I now plan to get a swap space and I'm throwing my 1969 5 speed Applekarte in the trunk of my primered '66 GTO to ride around in. Hope I don't look too stupid riding it. oh well.

Can't wait! LOOOOVE going to Bakersfield for the nostalgia drags! Been going now for about 16 years.

Wish I could bring my AA/Fueler or my AWB Tempest funny car, maybe next time.

the time'll come when i can bring both!

I'm doing the 'no-rain' dance! Don't have an enclosed trailer, so I guess I"ll just pull out the floorpan plugs to let the car drain out!!!

We rolled in late last night, after unbelievably making it four rounds in the Hot Rod class with the altered wheelbase Dart!! Not bad for the cars first time on a quarter mile track. It was dufus me that kept screwing up, but the car ran its dial in most of the time. They had us hot lap on the last round, and I could not get the heat out of the engine, and it trailered us with a tenth off the dial in. And with those sand-bagging pros hanging out in that class, I was doomed with a split that big..

Thanks! I want to also say thanks to alot of H.A.M.B.'ers who came up and said hello. Sounds like Rod and Kulture will be coming down to the shop to do a feature on the car. I was blown away when they came up and found me. The car looked like a dirt booger from where we parked out in East Jesus Texas..

Congrats on the 4 rounds...I went out in the first round and could not get the car to hook at all this weekend. Oh well back to Irwindale for me.

  19. Here is a pic of you I took that I have posted on my own March Meet thread here. I'm building an altered wheelbase Tempest myself.
    Your car looks good!

Nice shot!! Didn't even know you were there! People were asking me about the big burnouts I've started doing. First, its bitchin looking, but more important, those rock hard Mickey Thompson pie-crusts actually hook with 15-16 p.s.i. with more heat in 'em. I'm surprised at how they have lasted.
