Info on the Nomad--- The car was restored to perfection... But of course, Jersey driving is crazy, and it was front ended.. and totaled.. You guys know the rest.. Instead of letting it go, he built that!!!

Thats what you get when you breed a damn Southern person whith his own kind, a few times over. They come up with S*&t like that...feakin weird and not fully understandable. Must be the missing link.
I see a series of posters or T-shirts, all with the same caption -- "We don't give a damn how they do things in California!"
WTF??!!! That Frankenshoebox thing is disgusting. Someone please rescue the pick-up and Caddy from that guy before he cuts again.
I got this PM form a fellow HAMB'er [ QUOTE ] I'm sure it's easy to forget that Southern people (some of them) have computers too. I don't post things about California freaks and homo***uals (a stereotype here) so don't post your ignorant **** either. [/ QUOTE ] How many got this same PM. If others didnt, its ******** that it was even sent. Secondly, I dont give a F*ck if you want to talk **** on Calif. Go ahead, the state ****s, and I know it. The only good part of it to me is the History of Customs and Hot Rods. (Barris, etc.) A jokes a joke...If I offend sorry, but get the rest to aplogize too.

Just check this out! That guy modified his cowl and added card signs (spade, heart...) to his top. He modified the shape of his windows to look like card signs too. I knew gambling was bad for you! And that car might be the best rod from a show I attended. Unfortunately, people from province of Quebec rule when it comes to ugly cars. A popular way to build a rod around here is to subframe it, as in put a model A on a Chevelle frame... Then you brag to everyone about your big block and how much money it cost to build such a car. Of course, the frame sticks out from everywhere. Go figure...
Now that's the problem! When you shoehorn a Hemi in a Shoebox Ford. When you start it you have to be so damn carefull that you don't hit the gaspedal so hard, that the car in front of you end up in your air cleaner!!!!!!!!!!!!! Klaus
I think in order to even begin to understand why someone would experiment with design like that one would have to think of it theoetically in maybe deconsructivist terms. That is if two people can think of even that term the same way... Read; http://www.gingkopress.com/_zine/emigre/1e01.htm and other artcles on deconstructivist design. and apply it to car design instead of the more common architectural specimins Also check out the cowl area of a 50's "bathtub" Nash and see where the fenders do a much less extreme verssion of what happens to the cowl on that Nomad. No, I don't like them (the Model A? and Nomad) either... They weren't "successful experiments" in my book, but how do you determine what is pretty without comparing it to what is ugly? (part of deconstructionist theory)
pretty simple doc...just put a "for sale" sign in it and you will see what people like......when I sold used cars for a living, the boss always said..."People buy sharp"...that sums it up....wallet votes are the most accurate measure of ANYTHING.....
