They're aftermarket caps that were supposed to look like OEs but they didn't want to infringe on the copyrights. It just so happens that I collect those type of hub caps. I've only got one of those though. Jimmy
Here's whats I've got, Chevy caps that almost have a bowtie One deluxe ford cap One deluxe Chevy cap One 47-48 Ford caps that just have some squares instead of "Ford" a 32-35 Ford Cap that just has some swoopy lines And some Model A Caps that say "Bool" Jimmy
I had something similar once. A set of 41-style caps, but the name was actually just a bunch of swirls, like a French curve. Exactly like the caps run on the Reg Schlemmer roadster on the first cover of Hot Rod Magazine. Sold them to a European HAMBer.
Keith Cornell from the Rolling Bones Hot Rod Shop, has a set on his wicked '32 three winda. He doesn't run them all the time, but they sure are cool.
Wow and i just thought i hated 41 ford caps! the std's kinda turn my stomach - in 41 shouldnt it just be Deluxe and Super Deluxe though, no STD so where do these caps fit in?? -Forget that, thanks Wheelkid
I've seen a set that look just like 40 Ford deluxe caps, only instead of saying "Ford Deluxe" the say "The Deluxe" They use the same type style as the regular Ford cap even.
I saw a set of 30-31 Model A caps back in the late 70's that were in the familiar script but upon closer examination it clearly said "Fool". I always thought that was appropriate! Jim
if you guys can send me a picture of the caps you're looking for, I might have them. just bought a shed full of hub caps. approx 500 of them GOAT rustynutmule@yahoo.com
Wheel Kid, What would it take to get a set of these "Deluxe Caps reproduced. I would buy a set (or three) for my fleet of 41's ! 41 Dave
41 ford hubcaps; Does anyone know where I can get one that measures 7 1/4 instead of 8 1/8, I bought these years ago with a new set of wheels but I cant remember who made the wheels, lost one to a pot hole in Boise coming back from bonneville last year and cant find one.
Wheel Vintiques should have what you need. I believe their 41 cap for 15 " wheels will be the one , but you can ask them.
Badger was the manufacturer of many of the OEM but not quite caps, including the famous Bools. I'd always wondered, but I got hold of an old ctalog recently showing many of them. I don't think they made the DeLuxe... theirs all had shapes strongly resembling the OEM emblems until you looked closely.
I once scored a perfect set of 46 Ford caps at a swap, half the price Wheelsmith wanted, Problem is ONLY Wheelsmith caps fit their wheels and the ones I bought fit stock Ford wheels only. That 1/8" can make a big difference. I was lucky enough to sell them here on the HAMB. ,
