    Hi Hambers,
Just bought a 56 Cadillac Coupe De Ville. I'm asking for any of you out there that could help me with a good wheel and tire set up. I definatly want a thick white wall ( 4" and up) and I'm thinking of going after the Cadillac wire rims. I'm open to suggestions. Send pics and dimensions if you can. Stance is very very important.:) I'm getting radials with a white wall. I just want to see what others have done and put this website to some good use. I'll post pics after I get the new shoes on it. Sabres are sweet if I can find a nice set.

Sabres are expensive WHEN you can find them...I'm not sure Sabres would look good with 4 inch whitewalls...but then again, it's not my car.

Below is a photo of my friend's '56 with modified cruiser skirts...

That white Caddy looks great dropped. Those are Cokers on the White Caddy with the sideskirts? I have never heard of Cokerblem, is that short for blemish? I'll see if I can find what you are describing. I'm also looking at my pocket book which is screaming after this purchase so no real rush. If there is a deal out there I'm all over it. Thanks for the post guys. They don't have to be 4" whites but I like them nice and thick. like my ladies.:D

a blem is a defect in the tire, they are cheaper, when ordering tires, ask for a blem, sometimes the white part isn't trimmed all the way, etc. Cheaper for a new tire

I just posted on your thread that shows the build 40StudeDUde. Awesome! I'll post pics of my newest addition as soon as I get her back from the Inspector. And thanks 2 Hep, I figured the blemish part out but your explination made it so much clearer. :)
Studedude, what size rim and tire are using? what size white wall do you have on there?

Those are 3 inch whitewalls (but the rim hides about a 1/4" or so...so they really are 2 3/4" whitewalls)...and those are Diamondback whitewalls (I prefer them over Cokers...the whitewalls stay extremely white no matter what you drive it in)...and the rims are stock '55 Cadillac...

Thanx for posting on my thread...I'll have some updates soon...

replica wire wheels with 3 1/2" whitewalls, DiamondBack radials. I still have the original 53 Wires, that need replating, and they had Cokers....not impressed.

I contacted Diamondback, They said there is the option of Coopers which have the look of the biasply. Then he gave me a couple other options. MX and one other that I can't remember at this moment. Are those tires the same size as the biasply's I think they were 33's.

OK, I just got my car back from the Mechanic. He put in my new Kingpins, Upper lower A Arm stabilizer bars and bushing. New Shocks, and Springs. He gives the car back to me and says he zero'd out the wheels when he aligned the front wheels. He said it originally pulled to the right but them switched tires and it pulled to the left. Sounds like horse**** to me. Most people I work with think it's either a camber issue or a bearing that wasn't put back well. Does anyone have any advice they could lend?

I think I'm getting closer to curing this, I'm going to start swapping my tires front to back and see if that helps, I have some slop in my Steering box I know already so I will have to tighten that back up. Overall most people on the Cadillac forum are saying that it sounds like broken belts in the tire. So I'm leaning toward getting new TIres now. So I'm glad all of you gave me this feedback before. Now I'm going to use your suggestions. Thanks.
