[/ QUOTE ]Scrub Line. On both the front and rear suspension of the vehicle, stretch a taut string from the bottom of each wheel rim to the bottom of each of the other three tires at the road surface. If any part of the steering, suspension, or ch***is is below this string, the vehicle will fail scrub line. Allow an additional ¼ inch ***uming the tire will not come off the rim if the tire should go flat. Items exempt from scrub line check will include body sheet metal, bumpers, exhaust system, oil and transmission pan.

I'm not an NSRA type and so I don't suppose I know all the intricate details of it but the basic gist of it is anything that will s****e if you have a flat tire is below the scrub line.

"scrubline" is where he makes his poor wife hang the laundry, it isnt in his automotive vocabulary!

You can change a flat on the Leftover special without a jack...

    Thanks everyone for the replies.

I guess I still don't see why everyone freaks out about it. If you have a blowout and drag your deuce frame a few hundred feet, then that's your own problem. [IMG]

Sits just right. I love the trailing arm rear suspension. Are you using big soft front bushings in them like chevy pickups?

I ***ume the battery and fuel tank will sit in the space behind the cab, in front of the kickup? Gonna make a shorty P.U. box for it?

It sits about like mine and the scrub line is no problem even by the "nsra eyes".

How many inches off the ground is the body?

  20. I gotta say this...

I opened this topic with my 3 year old sitting on my lap. He's been here about half an hour with me, and not said much. As soon as I scrolled down to see the whole pic, he let out an "ooooooooooooooooooooooo" and "dada, let's build one of THOSE!". That says it all.

    Awesome. Awesome.
