Hello folks, Today I made it to the Saturday qualifying and general fun at the March meet. This was realy a treat for me, as I have always wanted to attend this event ever since it became a nostalgic type show and go affair. The whole day was great, however there was a nasty crash in the first round of AA Fuel dragsters. I hope the drivers are allright. I was pleased to see the Candies and Hughes" Canjun Cuda" car there as I remember it well when it was an NHRA compe***or. The traction in the pit side lane was really bad and it seemed like everone was having difficulty hooking up in the lane. Actually both lanes appeared quite slick, and very few cars made full power runs without having to lift. Anyway I have been here [Pismo Beach] since mid November and have had a ball! Soon I will be leaving for Louisiana with a pickup bed full of old car stuff for my 32 three window project, --- and a nice 31 Model A coupe on a trailer behind my truck! which just goes to show that it is not good to let an overage gearhead alone in California with overtime money and no adult supervision! I realy must thank Jason at Bear Metal Customs for his help in storing the coupe for me and making the top water tight with a new insert. If any one needs to know where to get correct information and good deals on parts and builds, Jason is your man. Mickey C
Hello Menace, indeed it was Friday. I worked all night Thursday, then drove 150 miles to the races and then drove back. I kind of lost track of the moment, I quess I look like an idiot, but it was still lots of fun! Mickey C
