I used to get broken Craftsman tools and return them for new. Haven't seen anything good in a long time.
I about peed in my pants last summer, I scored a vintage Milwaukee air fender planishing hammer, with 2 of the "C" frames for $5, but no dies. Needless to say I did not try to haggle, nor did I set the tool down as I was filling another box with the usual odds 'n' ends. Took it home and it works, going to order Fay Butlers book, it has drawings of the dies. I keep cruising this guy's house, he didn't have all his grandfathers stuff out and was going to have another sale.
I love going to garage and yard sales. There's usually 5 or 6 here every weekend. I haven't found much in the way of automotive stuff, but I keep looking! The best "score" so far was a neat br*** tire pump dating from the teens or 20's that I got for $2.
Everything once in a while you'll get a sale here that is nothing but automotive stuff,,once found a old little timing gun for 5 bucks and some craftsman sockets a guy was selling for a buck each,,but sometimes you find just things to turn around and sell too.
Lol,,well at least I know you're paying attention. Sometimes you just get to the point where you hear a quote soooo much that you don't go back to check your spelling,,lesson learned.
standing around at a garage sale while Sally rummaged around, got to talking to the guy about the 72 Eldorado convertable sittin over thar and he said might as well sell that too, the hood is stuck shut and we cain't check the oil or nuthin, bought it for $100..they are only good for the 500ci engines and this one had less than 100K onnit..I don't think Sally bought anything...
Thats a good score.... I was at a sale literally in the guys garage.Saw an Edelbrock Torker II hanging on the wall, $10 later it was mine. Maybe thats not an amazing deal....
We don,t have garage sales over here . how do you live without yard / garage sales ??? it like a moving fle market . lots of junk , but real treasures to be had ! id move or start one ... steve
