I'm pretty sure I remember reading this here at some point but after trying several diff. searches I've had no luck finding it.

Anyone know of a place in the midwest (KC Area prefered) to fix about a 3 inch crack in a B block it runs though one of the cylinders. I know that it has to be heated up till it's nearly molten and then welded and dumped in some special sand to cool it down slow then sleeved. I've talked to some of the old timers around here and they all say there used to be a place that did it but they can't remember where.
Many thanks in advance if you've got any ideas.

KC****o, I don't know of anybody your way, but H & H engines in Calif can do a great job, they do them all the time. They are at 818-248-2347, they might be able to send you to someone local?--TV [IMG]

H&H machine shop. Downtown KC. Stop by with the block and show Harold, he could help ya' out. The are right behind Bazokka's. Oh yea, if you need any flathead help the guy in the front of the shop is great help also. I forget his name.

Is the engine together or are you in the rebuild stage?
If it's together and you need to run it...
Depending on how bad the crack really is, you may be able to seal it with IRON***E. Look for it at NAPA stores, probably elsewhere too. I fought cracks above and around the exhaust valves for a long time and it sealed them right away [IMG].

I know this is late but thanks guys..
This is for my father in law and I don't know why he's bothering with this engine as I know there are others in his super secret bunker of T and A stuff. [IMG]
