I bought a disc brake conversion kit from ECI for my 51' Wayfarer. I started to install it today and it went on great. Problem I want to run the stock wheels and hubcaps and they are rubbing the calipers. What are my options? My 1st thought was to get a 1/2 inch spacer and longer lugs. Would that work? Is there another type of stock type steel wheel I could get that would work? Thanks!!!

it says on the website..stock wheels will not work.get some ford wheels that are for disc brakes.

  3. I have disc brake conversions on my Plymouths ('39 & '46). Both have stock suspensions and I went with Wheel Vintiques smoothies.

I've got steelies off a 1/2 ton dodge van on my 52 Wayfarer. Also run ECI brakes.

  5. 1/2" spacers will do the trick if you want to keep your stock wheels. They're dirt cheap at any parts place.

Could you switch to the earlier 16" mopar wheels and gain clearance? Same hubcap.

That is the plan. I ordered new ones from "Wheel Kid" on here from rally America. I should have them next week!

Are your original wheels 14" or 15"?

My 14" chrome reverse wouldn't clear the calipers....Now I've got 15" spacesaver rims (for now).

my stock 15" wouldn't work but i'd also like to know if 16s would work....i'm thinking no ,as the stock wheels had a bevel in the critical area and the new style have a notch....

  14. Why not? Why are you yelling? I'm running 2.5" spacers. Extreme I know. They're hubcentric, I've never had a problem. IMHO they are ok to use if needed.

15 inch. I was told I need 13 1/4 to clear. 14 sounded a little to close to me, so I stuck with the original 15's.
