...found a few pics I took of a display at Starbird that a couple of my buds (Joe Kirker & Howard Tribbey) put together.... show some of your ****...
Idiots, what's the point of having them on stands to show off? Trailer queens.. these should be in cars and driven on the road and on the track.
I doubt I could dream up a nicer collection... those are pieces of art and should be displayed as such...
Nope, for me the enjoyment is in using the parts for what they were made for. I like looking at the engines, just think it's a waste to just have them on a stand. Same here, lot's of parts all over the place, but also the intention to use them at some point. For me the whole point of a nice piece of technology build to perfection, as these engines obviously are, is to enjoy them for the purpose that they were intended for, not to just have and look at.
3W, Your friends have a great collection of Engines. This is my best Engine, I wish I could stop working on it, and start on my own Collection.
You just answered your own question. Great way to display parts that might ordinarily be sitting on a shelf.....especially if the blocks are past useable.
Well here is some of mine: A ready to go 392, & a 331 right behind it Cant see the 354 industrial on the right, or the other 392 on the left intake on the 331 behind the 392 Here's my favorite, not quite done yet. Looks just like a little old 331 doesn't it? And just for HR & the "Mustium collectious" bug and HR my favorite wheels!
I've inspected plenty of grenades (seriously, I have. It is as nerve wracking as it sounds) And as a fellow collector of anything and everything that catches my eye, I love it!
I want the nailhead!! I've started my engine collection. a 289 block, a set of 351 Windsor heads. Not much longer til I catch up.
I hope that the number of cylinders has nothing to so with size. Oh dear, I think I'm in trouble. [/IMG]
Neat gen. setup , pity there isn't always enough room to fit them down there ..... I agree with the idea that there all runners this one appears to be wired an ready to fire ..
