Projects What did ya get done this weekend?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by MP&C, Mar 8, 2009.

  1. Did more frame welding on my '36 Coupe.
It need additional boxing around the steering gear.
It displayed some weird flexing there last summer. It gave the feeling the steering gear was getting sloppy.
Yesterday I ran the welding tank down to empty so I need to refill it before I can do any more mig work on the coupe.
Also yesterday my backup compressor ( a 1968 Craftsman) stated hissing moisture out of the tank.
    Yep.........it developed terminal rot!
Only a tiny pin hole but still..............
Has anyone on the HAMB ever successfully welded one up?
I could almost say it's nearly invisible but who knows how large the hole will grow when I prep it with a grinder.
Late last night I unpacked my new surfboard and waxed the piss out of it.
Next month I'm visiting my brother in law in Costa Mesa and the were driving to Ventura to surf with an old friend.
    Hope the water is warm.
Where's a good surf spot in Ventura?
    Hate crowded beaches!

Got my rear axle cut out from under the junk LTD for my truck and started cleaning out shop for space to disassemble. LONG Process.

Imagine for a moment a 40' X 40' building with vintage parts, tools, and equipment completely covering every surface as to not be able to walk around, see the floor, or see the tables. All of it you want to keep, and all, well most, is useless. That is the delema i'm in. So far i've hauled out 3 full pickup loads of junk out and i'm just getting in the door.

Did you recently get that off of Craigslist? Little Hemi right? I thought seriously about going to look at it, but was afraid I would end up buying it.

    Looks good.:D

I installed a lokar shifter, new ignition, 3 inch lowering blocks and a walton master cylinder setup. Probably not much to you guys, but as a beginer I was pretty pleased with myself.

Spent the entire weekend re-roofing the shop. By myself. What fun and easy work roofing is! I'm thinking of a career change to become a roofer!

Hit a swap meet and scored a set of dirty Edelbrock no-hole valve covers for my 283....$60!

Got a set of Howard small journal SBC aluminum rods without the caps....$30. Thinking about some trick brackets for the truck or maybe a papere towel roll holder for the shop! Who knows?!?!
