Fire Engine Carb Kit

Like The Title Says I'm looking for a carburetor rebuild kit For one of our city's antique fire engines. its a 1939 ford its got the flat head v8 with a single barrel carb. I'm having trouble finding any information on it. its got the ford logo on the passenger side and the model number 91 99 on the drivers side. any info would be greatly appreciated!

 

It's a 2bbl carburetor.

 

any idea of where to get a kit for it?

Just asking, but is it a Ford/American LaFrance truck ?
I know they worked together making some fire trucks in the 30's.
How big is the pump and what kind ?

 

it sure looks like it,they built some of the most beautiful fire trucks ever. the cool factor on those is off the chart.

 

Should be a holley 94 carb, you should be able to get a kit about anywere.

 

Thanks for all the help guys! it is indeed a holley 94 and I was able to order the kit from napa! Even Better. as for the pump i will check it out today sometime and possible take some other pictures for all of you to enjoy. we also have a 23 La France Ill Try and get some pics of both of them!

 

only thing cooler then a hot rod is a vintage fire truck,all restored. some of us just never grew up. I guess an old fire truck would be a real "hot" rod.

 

yea we got some plans for it. a couple of the guy want to paint it but I'm slowly convincing them to keep the patina. That paint job has a lot of history and i would hate to see it sanded away. I'm sure a few of us can agree with that. I'm sorry I wasn't able to make it to the station today to snap a few shots but I will try and get them up by Friday.

 

The body looks to me like a 'HOWE'.

Here's mine. The chassis on mine is a Sterling, 1942. Body is a HOWE. Looks very similar, especially the rear fenders and rear light bar.

The frame is partially wood due to the steel shortage during WWII. Engine is a Hercules 6-cyl. flathead.

I agree about NOT painting it! It is original paint with minor touch-ups and a little buffing, and all the original lettering.

yea the patina is history when it comes to one of those. no telling where the truck has been and how many lives it might have saved. never want to sand that off. it's a badge of honor on a firetruck.
