Just curious... Does anyone remember the thread about a custom T-brid, that was painted to mimic that of Stainless Steel? I am told that there was a vast discussion regarding the paint, and I am hoping to do a little research into it for a possible color choice on a project. I have tried in vain to find this thread, but have come up empty handed. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks, ~MyDeSoto~
Yep, there are a few threads on here regarding it. Search GNRS where it debute in Jan. On that post there is a link to the build. The car was also at the Detroit Autorama this past weekend. What a beauty!
Thanks a million for the lightning quick response Guys & Gals! MUCH appreciated! Now.... to see what kind of magic I might be able to learn from this, and where best to apply.... ;-) ~MyDeSoto~
I think the stuff is called ChromeFX by ALSA. Here's there web site... http://alsacorp.com/ There was a discussion about the paint on this thread from the NSRA event in York, PA. At the bottom of the first page there are photos of a car that showed up painted in this stuff. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=270881&highlight=york+chrome+paint Also, more pics of the Tbird can be found at... http://www.thunderflite.com/
A friend of mine here in Texas is starting to provide this paint process as a service, I don't know anything about it, but I think it requires some special equipment. If anyone if interested let me know and I'll get you his contact info.
