This is a three 2 barrel setup on a 348 I am building for my dad's '58 Chevy pickup. I chose the Autolite 2100 because I believe it is the best carb ever built. I bolted the carbs to the stock 348 intake with a simple Mr. Gasket adapter. The carbs are 1.08" throttle bore 287 cfm units. The end carbs will not have power valves, accelerator pumps or chokes. The ends of the air horns had to be cut off for clearance, I still need to cut the last carb.

I double flared 3/8" copper tubing and used br*** fittings because it looks like it belongs on the engine. I have used copper tubing for years with no problem.

I used a simple Purolator dial fuel pressure gauge mounted on the Holley fuel pump just in case I need it.

Nice setup, but I would use the accelerator pumps on the end carbs.

So would I. All of the factory secondary carbs on 348s, Oldsmobiles, and Pontiacs had pumps.

The vehicle will operate off the center carb until 1/2 throttle, and then the end carbs will come in drawing in fuel from engine vac***. I have built similar setups using the Autolites, and they perform well with no pumps on the end carbs.

Well, you've got more experience with Autolite carburetors than I do, so whatever works best.

Turn them around, they line up better. Leave the power valves in. Any problems contact Pony Carbs.com

I have never had problems with the Purolator version of this regulator.

  10. Nice work! These cabs rule, always had great luck with em. I used to run em all the time on our stock cars at the track. I have a pile of em saved up for something.
As for not running pumps in the outer carbs, Art Chrisman told me years ago to not run em in the outer carbs too, on any multi carb setup. He said thats the trick to running lotsa carbs. It works awesome and is alot better then the posers running 6x2 setups and not hookin up the outer carbs:D

I am going to use a Ford style oval air filter element with a custom made base, and an aluminum air filter lid that is either made to look like cast aluminum or painted to match the valve covers.

  14. I had thought about a similar setup for my Model A several years ago, but had not thought about cutting the tops, way kool idea! Let us know how it works out. The other pic of MERC 55's ride is also BAD***! I like it! Here was my solution for a little different setup on my 500" Cadillac.

    Hey Drive Em.

That is way cool, I am looking for a Ford FE 3x2 intake to put 3 2100's on also.

    ...or..a 2x4 intake to put 2 4100's on.

    Ricky.
