I had a whole reply to this, but then I thought, "Why bother?"...You really SHOULD swap out the sweet running 428/400 Turbo, and sell it to me. I'd give you enough to buy one 22" Donk...

  3. Yeah, that's true. I have been around a white, at least 4 years, but have just been a lurker. After the panel burnt down, I didn't have any projects so no reason to really post much. I just recently started the Bonneville and got rather excited. Who knows though, I may just rock the 14's with my PMD hubcaps. May run out of money :)

Seriously, why has a thread about Tahoes, 20" wheels, Mazda RX8's and a four door 67 Pontiac gone on for two pages?

Traditional hotrod and custom forum. Does anybody read the rules anymore?

I took a lot of heat for proposing a sbc in my no-motor 64 Riviera-you just have to expect that. Decided to stick with the 401/425 for ease of installation and torque.

As for the 5.3/6.0 LS series GM engine aside from this particular post this is an excellent engine. The 5.3 has been out for 10 years and we have yet to see any kind of demand for parts in porportion to their numbers ( I work for an engine rebuilder). My 4.8 in my '00 Silverado has 275,000 miles on it and runs like the day I bought it new.

here are some pics of stock pontiac ralley II's. a wheel vintiques chrome ralley II, a wheel vintiques pontiac ralley I, and a chevy/gmc truck ralley with 5 on 5 bolt pattern. if your boat has the same pattern as a buick the you can run the 15x8 chevy truck wheels. you can also use buick brakes, axles and hubs to get the truck pattern or get them redrilled. I always thought the truck ralleyes would look trick on an older car. putting buick wheels on my truck was wierd.[IMG]

like the car alot, but about catching grief, why are you suprised? this is a Traditional hot Rod and custom Board.

your car is 3 years too new, and 20s and 22s just dont fit here. No offence to you but this is just the wrong place.

love the 428 though, that sounds kick ass. dont put a 5.3 in it.

  8. Those wheels in the top left of the set of 4, I have two sets of those. I want to put them on but I haven't found any 14" tires locally. Not sure if they are 14's or 15's though. I do like them. I put the spoked PMD hubcaps on the other day, and don't really care for them.

The 5.3 is a great motor, but I don't have the funds, so will probably just stick with the 428. I say it like its a bad thing. I love the engine, I love the torque, I love the sound. I'm just thinking long term going FI. Who knows.

Wheel wise, its all up in the air. I like the old ralleys, I like the new modern wheels. I will probably go back and fourth with the wheels though. I didn't mean to stir things up. I do appreciate comments, and the insight. I honestly forgot this was a traditional hot rod forum. This build will be traditional until I put wheels on it, and who knows when that will happen. In the meantime, I may pull out the ralley wheels, clean em up and throw them on.

Now paint wise. I like the idea of keeping it stock themed, with the purple lower white top. Do you guys think I should go all gloss, or do maybe flat plum bottom, white pearl top? Or some sort of flake up top? My other thought for the bottom is black with purple pearl over it. Opinions wanted.

  9. 200R4 has to be built to live behind a 428, but guys have put them behind 455's, so I know that can be done.

it's a big huge late 60's car, for my money they look sweet glossy with big wheels; kinda classy. Don't screw it up and try to make it more 'retro' than it is. Keep posting on here, you may actually run into someone with some valid information for you.

Being young aint no excuse for being dumb.

    22's?
    Fuel injection?
    67' 4 door?

Id rather see this car burn down like your panel rather than see it "donked out" like you plan!

    Get a clue!

  12. Man, that sounds really familiar. Like it was quoted from an older thread . . .

  14. Wow, **** some of you guys. Too stuck in your old ways to appreciate something that doesn't fit perfectly into your outdated styles. Please remove my thread.

have you seen the buick chip foose did in white with the purple on t and the ghost plant leafs it was wild. how about purple on the bottom with ghosted hawaiian flowers but NOT a surfer theme, and vanilla Icecream on top instead of white.

    Keep your threads on man!!!

try doing something new with old style and parts instead of doing something old with new parts and it will get more attention

just don't get all liquored up and turn it over and have a crazy bonfire bobsled ride down mount hood like y'all had with the suburban.:)

  17. No, I haven't seen that, but I'm going to look it up now. That's kind of a cool idea. I really like what Foose does, his builds inspire me. Combining old with new.

Yeah, I'll keep it going. Even if 100 people don't like it, its the 3 people that do that'll make it work it. I actually didn't burn it down. I was down in Oregon and it was up here in Washington. Had it investigated and they found gasoline all over the inside and the fuel was still sealed in the tank...

  18. "Fuck you guys, no I'll keep it going, fuck you guys, no I'll keep it going." Make up your damn mind. And as for being stuck in our outdated ways, this website is for things that are TRADITIONAL!!! That means old stuff, not trendy current fads that will be outdated in 5 years. Your car doesn't even meet the cutoff year! Get over it and go home.

This place is what it is with apologies. Your car and what you're planning to do to it just is not the focus here.
