Dude, the question ain't how fast the car will go, it's how big are your balls.

A hot 350 would push that car to where it's aerodynamically unstable, my guess is at probably 130-140 bad shit will start happening. You've got enough motor for 160+ but probably won't be comfortable with that much countersteering in a straight line.

Admittedly I could be off because of the mile limit, around here the roads let ya stretch a little further. Are there big bugs in Texas? They hit HARD

    good luck and be safe

can't really tell in any of the pics but do you know how much caster you're running? if it's setup to be streetable now i'd considering adding in more.

It's going to get twitchy over 120 or so...be prepared to ease off of the throttle like Glen said.

My car will do about 125 or so with a 3.50 rear gear, and then it runs out of gear. I'd put in a 3.00 to a 3.25 rear gear, because you're probably going to run out of room to use the 2.68.

If you get the gear right, and everything goes smoothly in the handling department, you should go about 175 mph. But aerodynamics are going to be working against you...so don't be disappointed if you don't get to use the motor's full potential.

    Good luck....and have fun!

I will be trying to put at least 26 degrees in the caster I run 6 on the street.

145 with the visor, 150 without  :D

It's got a ton of horsepower and very minimal front area being 44" tall. Like a lot of people have said, the top speed is going to depend on how easy it is to drive when you get it up there. I don't think you'll have much trouble pulling a 2.68 gear with a blown 468, even over just a mile. How many passes will you get to make? Maybe you can go through the quickchange between rounds, that's what it's there for. ;) Good luck and be safe!!

The cool thing is you make as many passes as you can get in I will be running Sat and Sun. I am considering taking off my headlights.

that was going to be my guess!

    so I'll backpedal a little. 148.33

I agree that the limiting factor will probably be stability. But its low enough that it might handle better than we think.

Good luck and keep it safe!

Texas Miles is a standing start 1 mile run...... correct? I saw your car run at the Thaw... I guessing 145'ish! I should be there to provide moral support and cold beer.

    Good luck

Enjoy your runs at Texas. Just remember it's a fairly short shut down ~1/2 mile. Get the laundry out at the stripe.

162 mph. Good Luck, be safe, have fun...

A friend, Jerry Balco and his 68 Camaro, 502/spraying 200 or so...went 175 at the last Texas Mile meet.........30 inch tires, 2.73 gear.........car runs high 5s in the 8th spraying...6.50s on motor..........

I would say around 150/60 ...give it hell.........

Wow that is a fast car. Up in till the Thaw, I would not have appreciated those numbers. If I can hit 150, I will be happy & anything above that will be cake. This has been a bunch of shit to get ready for: tires, chute, roll cage, fire suite, shoes, gloves, adult diapers on and on. But it will be fun!

I've never done a timed mile, but I'd be surprised if it doesn't exceed 150. You'll be over 125 by the 1/4 with plenty of gear left. The blower motor should have enough torque to overcome some of the aerodynamic issues.

I added the chute today. Also changed the blower pulleys out and racked the axle back to 21 degrees thats all I could get. I am running 10 lbs of boost runs ok on the 118 race fuel 12 more days and counting.

If you can cross the line at 5300rpm in high you'll be going about 180! I, too, think you want a gear at 3.00 or more (numerically). However, with a 3.00 you'll need to pull 5950. vic

My cam power ban falls off at 6500 so 5300 should not be a problem. I have gears to go up or down. Thanks for the info.

where did you attach you main chute strap? With the body that low Im curious.

  26. I ve seen your set up and I noticed you were running those chinese heads, how you like them? My guys don't like them but I've heard decent flow numbers out of them after you do a little exhaust bowl work and throw away the valves and springs. I don't know what overdrive ratio with the 118 your running but I would be pulling your plugs between the runs....Oh and good luck out there!!!

I'm sure with that motor it could do a lot more, but I'm guessing 135 with the aerodynamics of the car. Good luck and be safe. Great car!
