Straightaway features the adventures of race car designers Clipper Hamilton (John Ashley) and Scott Ross (Brian Kelly), co-owners of the Straightaway Garage. Clipper would design the cars while Scott would build and repair them. Each week they'd have an exciting adventure in the world of professional auto racing, or with one of their many clients who brought a car into their shop.

LOL, never heard of it till I saw this post, googled Straightaway TV Show and got this.

Not any more understanding of the show than before I read this post, but I think it describes it.

    Not exactly Route 66

I've tried to find VHS or DVD of this series for years. I would think ioffer would be a good place to look but no luck yet. I remember watching this syndicated series when it was first telecast.

  7. It was a great series for car guys and I've never seen it available on DVD or any other format. The episode that always stuck in my mind was the one where some thugs took a sledge to a full custom Corvette. I remember seeing the quite famous car at the time in other places...it led me to believe it was about to be reworked so damage wasn't too important......Great Show....I hope it shows up someday.....Centurion9
