Any of you know a respectable sand blasting operation in the Kansas City area? I need a car frame done.
And Im still looking for a place to get Kerosene from a pump. not in a jug from the hardware store!

Not sure about Kerosine, but to get a frame blasted there is Eagle Auto Stripping. A short drive into Kansas on I-70. Also another blasting place right in the West Bottoms that I would trust with a frame. (not sure about trusting them with sheet metal)

There are likely other blasting places I don't know about - possibly closer to you.

    Thanks Kevin!
I always ask first 'cause I'd rather learn from some one else's bad experience then have one of my own.
Am I buying you a beer or what Tuff guy?

2nd on west bottom sand blasting spot.. It is just around the corner from the punk rods shop...

  5. In Ft.Scott, 100mi. south of KC, I'd get all my Kerosine at the local Co-Op. I hadn't needed any here in KC, but at the shop in Edgerton, I get kerosine at a truck stop just between gardner & KC.

I'd call information for the local Feed Store number, grain for horses etc...and ask them to refer you to the closest Co-Op. Or possibly one of the Big truck stops in your area might carry it. Carl Hagan

  6. There is another sandblaster behind the car wash on SW Blvd. A friend of mine had a BBQ ( sheet metal) blasted there. It turned alright but then again it was just a grill. What's the name of the place in the bottoms?...I don't see it in the phone book?

I have had good luck with Andrew's Sandblasting & powdercoating on 40 Highway in Blue Springs. There is a Kerosine pump at the pilot truckstop also. These are quite a ways east of you.

  10. place is called INDUSTRIAL SANDBLASTING 1300 woodsweather rd . 816 421 5080 , on northside of west bottoms . extremely good bunch of guys , ricky had alot of stuff stripped and eric had his frame and some sheetmetal done there, had abosolutely no problems , just tell them what you are going to do with it , and they can use the right abrasive on it , if they arent real busy it is usually next day or even same day turnaround! i think it was right around 200.00 to have the entire frame stripped, and they did a thorough job,

just go downtown and turn west... you will know when you are in the bottoms. most businesses in the bottoms are awesome. i have dealt with a lot of them and they are still very much an old school in their approach. Pauls autobody supply is down there too. if you call in the morning half the time if they have to order something its there by 130 that afternoon. and its directly across the street from Industrial Sand Blasting. to me its still the coolest part of KC.

K, try the fuel station at the bottom of the 12th street hill west of down town.

Another would be Quick Trip off of Truman, and West of 435. (call and see if other branches closer sell it.).

    I may think of another.

    For sandblasting

Chester pickens, (7th and Miami KCK), Eagle sandblasting. Mikes the owner.

Nice and respectable guy. DOes alot of cars, cycles and industrial machines. He did a car for me once and you could see the stamps on the sheetmetal from the mill when they were done.

They know their abrasives, And how not to warp panels. They have done nice work on Stainless work glass bead work.

I believe they stock Walnut, glass, aluminum oxide, corse, med, fine river sand, and maybe shot.

You might want to try R&K collision in cleveland Mo, Ive sent a couple of complete jobs to them and the did a great job and the price is right! Ask for Rick and tell him Jason Rock sent you.
