Splitting wishbones and rewelding them - advice please

I'm going to split the wishbones on my Ford Prefect and want to know if it is OK to reweld them using a mig, or is it best using a tig welder? I'm quite accomplished with a mig, but don't have access to a tig, so good advice needed please.

Mig will work fine.

I mig them all the time, where good penetration is required I make sure to bevel grind both surfaces to make sure it welded all the way through...
