Just wanted to share a resto idea for stainlees molding. Turn your stainlees trim piece over. Fill a area of the same shape by melting lead into it. Remember to stick a wire in it to help drag it to the bad spot. Reshape by taping with a hard plastic hammer to the lead that is shaped properly. Sand smooth and polish. Be carfull and good luck.
so your essentially making a perfect shaped dolly? sounds cool, but i would only do it on some tricky creases/folds, the other little dings and dents are easy with a small plastic tipped pick
Hey Chaz, How do you get the bondo out. I am thinking most stainless has a lip on it. With lead you just touch it with a torch and it will drop out. Have you had a chance to make that work. I wonder if it would be good for larger piece.
Great idea, I think I'm gonna try this on my '56 Fairlane drip rail moldings. Small kinks in 'em and they're almost too small to get anything inside without adding to the damage. Has anyone else had luck with this method? I'll try & post some pics before & after.
