I just picked this up from an old friend that was closing his shop. It needs the hydro pump for it to get it going. Not sure the make so if anyone can tell let me know. I talked with Huth (sp?) and they said not theirs, but a copy so hopefully there pump will work. I also have a pro-tool one shot bender that also needed the power unit so might try to get the big bender going and using the hydros to run the pro tool as well. I am new to bending so what else can this exhaust bender do? can I make headers with it? know it's not mandrel, but was thinking of the fill with sand then bend. The rep said it has enough balls to bend 1.5 or 2 in solid bar,not sure.
its not heth, its Huth... and yes, it'll bend anything you want it to. dont need to fill the tubes with sand, trust me.
OMG you are going to make alot of friends now espically if you have a hoist. GOOD SCORE!! & psssssssssst keep it hidden unless you wanna do exhaust.
I guess thought the pipes would crinkle when I try to do the tight bends and small length for the headers. It also came with dies for 1 1/2, 1 7/8, 1 3/4, 2, 2 1/4, 2 1/2. I might need the bigger radius ones to get the deeper (more degree) bends. I guess need to look at what size headers I will be trying to do. I know I will get some new friends now. Next I need to get a lift so I can make some extra project cash. know to find out where to get the exhaust pipe from.
The one I had did crinkle the tubing in tight radius bends. It is plenty powerful enough to bend whatever you want, just not something that will be as quality as a mandrel one would be.
one of the Vagabond brothers makes his living with a Huth bender... and what he does, is make HEADERS. as i said, trust me... its just a matter of practice
